My journey of personal growth and recovery has been my greatest teacher. It instilled in me an unshakable resilience and the firm belief that with dedication, any challenge can be overcome. More importantly, it clarified my purpose: a life dedicated to service. Whether I am advocating for colleagues in the workplace or supporting our neighbors struggling on the streets, I have consistently stood up for those who need a voice. I don’t just empathize with the struggles of our community—I have the lived experience and the tenacity to fight for real solutions.
Our county’s future depends on two things: keeping taxes fair and making sure our workers can afford to live here. I will fight for livable wages for county staff to keep our best young talent at home. By bringing new business into the county, we can create more jobs and strengthen our economy without placing a heavy burden on taxpayers.
One of the most impactful ways Rockingham County Commissioners can support our schools is by expanding funding for student meals. We know that a well-nourished child is a child ready to learn. For many families in our community, school breakfasts and lunches are a vital safety net that ensures students stay focused and healthy, even when things are tight at home. Investing in school meals is an investment in our children’s academic success.
I prioritize integrity over easy promises; when I speak, I intend to follow through. My fiscal approach is centered on tax stabilization and finding creative funding solutions. By leveraging our professional grant-writing resources, we can address the county's needs through external funding rather than increasing the burden on taxpayers. There are grants available for nearly every major project, and I intend to make sure we utilize them to the fullest.
Improving social services isn't just about spending more; it's about spending smarter. By bringing services to the people through mobile units, keeping our best social workers here with housing incentives, and cutting the red tape that slows us down, we can ensure that every resident of Rockingham County gets the support they deserve without overstretching the taxpayer.
As a resident of Rockingham County, I believe you deserve full transparency in how decisions are made. I’m running because I refuse to sit on the sidelines; I’m choosing to be a doer, not a critic. For too long, we’ve seen the same voting patterns lead to the same frustrations. I am offering a different path. My rule for voting is simple: if a proposal benefits our entire community, I will support it. If it only serves a select few at the expense of the many, I will vote no. I am ready to stand in the gap and ensure your voice is finally heard.
