My career experience includes working as Senior Mortgage Analyst of 16 years, 22year small business owner, WCPSS Board member, co-founder of NCCCSBM, a NC school board coalition, a Member of NSBC, National School Board Coalition and served as a Board Member on CALN, a division of The John Locke Foundation. She earned her degree from F.I.T. and studied Business Management from SUNY Farmingdale, NY. My husband and I have called Wake Forest our home for 20 years where we have raised our two boys in WCPSS. I have volunteered tutoring and helping teachers in classrooms and served on PTA, along with volunteering in our community and working with municipalities.
I am most passionate about quality education. When we lead our children well, they thrive. Our children need strong life skills to prepare them for success, while it strengthens our community of future professionals and engaged citizens. Education shapes opportunity, purpose, and lifelong well-being. Every child deserves strong academics, high standards, and classrooms focused on learning. As a WCPSS Board member, I have stood for transparency, removing politics from the classroom, quality curriculum, respect for American heritage, closing academic gaps. I will continue to focus on quality education as your senator.
Every dollar spent should be traceable, purposeful, and focused on improving student outcomes while supporting teachers and families. Transparency must guide everything we do. Open government builds trust, encourages meaningful dialogue, and helps parents, educators, and communities understand how decisions are made, which leads to stronger policies and real solutions. Accountability follows by ensuring resources are used effectively and programs deliver results. Our focus must remain on the classroom, supporting teachers with the resources, pay, and respect they deserve, while giving families a voice in their children’s education. Through transparency and accountability, we can make smart investments that create lasting and positive changes
By cutting waste and focusing on the right priorities, we can ensure taxpayer dollars are used effectively and put where they are needed most. This approach allows us to reduce unnecessary costs while investing in critical programs—such as supporting our veterans and helping vulnerable families who genuinely need assistance. Today, too many young people cannot afford to buy their first home, working families are struggling to keep up with everyday expenses, and seniors are being forced out of their homes by rising property taxes, insurance premiums, and medical costs. Smart, accountable tax policy can help relieve these pressures and create a more stable, affordable future for North Carolinians at every stage of life.
To improve safety in our communities, I would support laws that strengthen and equip law enforcement with the resources, training, and tools needed to keep people safe. We must take a firm stand against fentanyl, our teen vaping crisis, and trafficking by increasing penalties for dealers and expanding prevention and education efforts. Our great connectivity with our highways and interstates unfortunately also bring in drug, human, and organ trafficking. It is critical we support law enforcement and address these concerns in order to create safer communities for our families.
