As a Mayor I watched as the County Commissioner pushed a wedge between the county and the cities. These relationships should be one of the top priorities from the top down. I will work with the cities in order to restore the trust and relationships that have been tarnished.
I know what we were able to do in Plain City while being the Mayor of Plain City in regards to the budget. We were able to reinforce the good spending habits that existed and implement more ways to cut spending and in return kept the city from even looking at a tax increase. I believe the County receives an acquit of revenue to not only operate well, but to also put away for Capitol improvements. You will not see me ever vote for a tax increase.
Public Safety!
Public Safety is a huge issue. Supporting the Sheriff and the men and women that serve with him is top priority.
Commissioner Bolos proposed a “re-appropriation of deputies” to cut the amount of money the county spends to cover the unincorporated area of our county and pushing those cost to the smaller budgeted cities that contract with the Sheriff for their coverage. There is much more to be said about this.
Working with the new Ogden Valley City to help them to function as an independent city is crucial to their success.
Right now they are staring down the barrel of 519% tax increase, and that does not need to happen. The County receives the property taxes that should go to the new city for the next 18 months.
So much more to say
18 years of management positions, 8 years as the Mayor of Plain City and owned and operated my own small business.
I have managed budgets and understand the revenue streams that said budgets are composed from. Working with staff members, understanding the budgets and working with the residents has made me the leader I am today.
I have also attended multiple leadership trainings over the years and tho some are better than others, you always learn something new to implement into your day to day interactions.
As you can easily research, you will see who is getting funded by the large developer and realtor in this race, and who is not. I have not received a nickel from any of them.
The unincorporated area of Weber County should not have the growth that it is seeing for a few simple reasons. 1- the county has no youth recreation program set up which places the burden on the smaller cities that surround the area. Rec programs are always subsidized by cities and the burden should not be pushed to them. 2- the county is not set up and designed to function like a city. All subdivisions should be pushed to be annexed into the nearest city for large scale development. Cities have the proper departments in place to facilitate these expansions.
I have had multiple discussions with the Ogden Mayor about assisting with the cost of homelessness. We both believe there is a solution, and working toward that with cooperation and great relationships will be the only way to get on the right path.
There is a burden that should be shared by the county tax payer as they are a part of our county.
I have always been and always will be the elected person that wants everything to be done in public. With the already established PR department we can work together to make sure this happens.
I will push to have all work meetings held in the Commission chambers and live streamed on multiple sites. This work needs to be for all to see.
I will also have the Commission meeting changed to 6 pm so that the public has the opportunity to attend in person if they choose.
People want to know what is happening when it’s happening. We can do better than we are, and I will happily take the lead on that.

I am running for re-election as a County Commissioner because I believe local government should be fiscally responsible, efficient, and focused on serving the people of Weber County. During my first term, I reduced unnecessary spending while improving county services, and I want to continue building on that progress.
One of my top priorities has been responsible budget management. Each year, I carefully review county expenditures to identify savings opportunities without sacrificing essential services. I believe taxpayers deserve transparency, accountability, and leadership that treats public dollars with care. I remain committed to keeping Weber County financially strong and efficiently managed.
Housing - Our general plan allows a variety of housing options. I am focused on home ownership, and prioritize that in developments. On WACOG's Housing Subcommittee, I work with cities on collaborative solutions.
Budget - I scour the annual budget for ways to save. We made all Sheriff’s deputies' pay competitive WITHOUT a property tax increase. During my first term, we brought public relations in-house and eliminated an entire department and a Commission office position.
Public Safety - As Sheriff’s Office liaison, I worked to develop and implement a long-term, market-responsive solution to improve recruitment and retention. The Sheriff’s Office is now fully staffed.
I am the only commission candidate with a Master of Public Administration and a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Combined with ten years of public administration experience, this training uniquely qualifies me to fulfill the commissioner's administrative role. My experience is essential to prepare the county budget, which includes numerous departments, offices, and special funds. I have the knowledge and willingness to ask tough questions, closely examine spending, and identify opportunities to reduce costs. I look forward to budget season because I believe every request deserves careful review. Department heads and elected officials alike are expected to justify their spending as we develop the county’s annual budget.
The General Plan is the most important tool we have as Weber County continues to grow. We anticipate that western Weber County may become a city, so thoughtful planning now is critical. With the extension of Legacy Highway into our county, we need to ensure that future housing and business development align with that infrastructure and support smart, sustainable growth. I am also interested in preserving the character of these areas by incorporating open space into larger developments. This approach allows property owners to exercise their private property rights while still maintaining the open feel that residents value. We work closely with the Planning Commission as they review proposals.
Homelessness is a housing issue that also involves mental health, addiction, employment, and access to support services. Through my work on the WACOG Housing Subcommittee, I have always advocated for housing solutions across the county that involve every municipality because no single city should carry the entire burden.
As chair of the Weber-Morgan Local Homeless Council, I have gained firsthand experience working with homeless service providers, local governments, and community organizations. I am now working with the other commissioners to help fund and develop resources through grant opportunities. The ultimate goal is to meet individuals where they are and help them successfully reintegrate into our communities.
I helped implement a video segment that recaps our weekly commission meetings. This weekly video serves as an educational tool to help residents better understand the issues we discuss and the decisions we make as a commission. I have also used social media to explain more controversial votes and decisions, providing additional context and answering questions from constituents.
I value open dialogue and believe it is important for residents to understand why I vote the way I do. In addition, I am accessible and responsive through emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings. I have met with many residents to discuss issues important to them, and I always welcome the opportunity to listen and to explain my position on county matters.
