I bring more than 30 years of law enforcement and public safety experience as a firefighter, paramedic, Syracuse Police Officer and detective, Undersheriff—Second in Command of a Sheriff’s Office, and Senior Investigator in the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office. My experience on the street, investigating serious crimes, and in executive leadership has prepared me to lead the Sheriff’s Office, support our deputies, strengthen community partnerships, and keep Onondaga County safe.
My priorities come from more than 30 years of experience at nearly every level of public safety and law enforcement. I’ll make sure the men and women doing the job have the tools, training, policies, and support they need to help people and keep them safe. I’ll rebuild relationships with our communities and public-safety partners, and use a comprehensive, data-driven approach to prevent crime, protect the public, and hold offenders accountable.

Endorsement(s) Syracuse Teachers, Teamsters, plumbers and steam fitters, Labor Counsel, United Auto Workers
Education Three Associates, bachelors in history, Masters in Criminal Justice. Numerous police and fire fighting certifications
Besides my education and 30 year military and police experience, my most significant experience is actually being a successful Sheriff in the same office I’m seeking re-election in.
1. Continue to keep the people of Onondaga County safe effectively and efficiently. 2. Continue to be a steward of the tax payers money by more consecutive years coming in under budget. 3. Be proactive with the challenges facing public safety whether those challenges be Micron or recruiting new members to my office.
