Due to the many years I have spent in the volunteer fire service I have gotten to know many aspects of how the township government works. This goes beyond just the fire station. There are many other items that fall under the trustees roles and obligations.
The biggest challenge looking forward is protecting our townships as the state wants to drastically reduce the number of townships. There are some avenues that can be taken but there are many factors that would have to be looked into and agreed upon by the advisory board before anything can happen.
As with most townships fire and medical care are at the top of the list. The first item is to always make sure the fire department equipment is ready for duty. After that find what it is that our members need to continue serving the community the best possible way. Part of this could include neighboring departments to better serve our own.
It is my understanding that the poor relief services could be improved upon. Unfortunately budgets have been already set and this will take time to improve as the need will surely be growing due to the high costs of living. I will do everything I can to ensure our residents get what is needed.
Transparency seems to be big item I hear all the time. This seems to be an easy fix as to be more open and compassionate to the residents.
Help the community grow. I have heard many ideas to make our little town better and working as a whole we can achieve maybe some of the items.
