As State Representative, I will fight to make Massachusetts more affordable by lowering everyday costs for working families and retirees. That means expanding access to affordable housing, reducing childcare costs, strengthening public transportation, lowering prescription drug costs, and supporting good-paying union jobs. We must invest in common-sense policy initiatives that save families money, and specific to Cape Cod, allow permanent residents to be able to afford to live here. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live, work, raise a family, and retire with dignity in Massachusetts.
One of my top policy priorities is investing in a blue economy, ensuring clean air and water on Cape Cod, and making Massachusetts more environmentally sustainable. As an oyster farmer, I regularly experience the impacts of climate change, and as a Cape resident, we see the very real need for significant investments in climate resiliency and coastline protection.
Cape Cod relies on its waterways and coastlines not only for its vacation economy but also for its year around blue economy employing the fishing, shellfishing and eco-tourism industries.
Massachusetts must be a national leader in sustainability practices and blue economic advances, while simultaneously protecting ratepayers from rapidly increasing utility bills.
I will fight to make healthcare more affordable by lowering prescription drug costs, protecting access to reproductive healthcare, and expanding access to quality, affordable coverage. I will work to strengthen our healthcare system so every resident can get the care they need without financial hardship. I will also advocate for investments that ensure Cape Cod residents have reliable access to hospitals, primary care providers, specialists, and emergency services close to home.
This starts with increasing local aid and reforming the funding formula so towns can fund schools, public safety, roads, libraries, and essential services without constant reliance on overrides. By securing a stronger state partnership and delivering predictable, equitable funding, we can reduce pressure on local property taxpayers and ensure every community has the resources needed to thrive.
I will defend the integrity of Massachusetts' elections by protecting secure, fair, and transparent voting systems from federal overreach and political interference. I will support strong election safeguards, ensure local election officials have the resources they need, and uphold every eligible voter's right to cast a ballot with confidence that every vote is counted accurately and fairly. I will also support initiatives that increase engagement in the political process, both state and local, including the continuation of universal early vote by mail and the implementation of same-day voter registration.
As State Representative, I will strongly support legislative efforts supporting immigrant families and protecting our neighbors regardless of their immigration status. This is a core belief for me, and I am proud to be the son of an immigrant father.
