Experience and Qualifications
I served for 16 years in the Army, first as a military police officer and then in special operations leadership, deploying six times overseas and earning three Bronze Stars. I concluded my active-duty career as Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council and then served as a senior executive at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, protecting critical infrastructure — from our energy grid to our election systems — against cyber and physical threats.
Community Involvement
My family has called the Hudson Valley home for four generations — from my great grandfather and grandfather who worked in the Montrose brickyard; to my dad, a construction worker born and raised in Hopewell Junction; to my mom, born in Peekskill, who served communities up and down the Hudson River as a postal worker for 48 years; to the generations of my family who have been proud members of the Cortlandt Fire Engine Company. I’ve spent my life protecting our communities.
Education
I attended West Point, becoming the first in my family to graduate college, and went on to earn graduate degrees from Harvard and MIT.

We’re in the midst of an affordability crisis. In Congress, I’ll work to improve the cost-of-living by repealing the reckless tariffs that are costing Hudson Valley families $4,200 more. I’ll also lower our utility bills by fighting for responsible regulations to ensure monopolies don't pass utility costs onto families. And I’ll stop rising drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower prices on more drugs, and establish a public option that lets people buy into Medicare at any age to increase competition and choice. At the same time, we must rein in Washington corruption by banning corporate PAC money, banning stock trading for members of Congress and the White House, and implementing congressional and Supreme Court term limits. Lastly, I will fight for our future by investing in workforce development and instituting America’s first Public Service Home Loan Program to help law enforcement, first responders, teachers, and nurses afford to live in the communities they serve.
Right now, the system is rigged. The rich are getting richer, while everyday Americans struggle to get by. We need to end Washington corruption to unrig this system and make the American Dream a reality once again, ensuring our government serves the people, not corporations and special interests. Unlike my opponent, who has taken over a million dollars in corporate PAC money, I will never take a dime, and when I’m in Congress, I’ll fight to get dark money out of politics by banning corporate special interests from rigging our elections and ending Citizens United. I’ll also push forward legislation that bans stock trading by members of Congress and the White House and that institutes congressional term limits. No one should be using their office to enrich themself or their billionaire buddies.
I was proud to defend the security of our country’s elections at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), protecting the cornerstone of American democracy and ensuring elections are only decided by the will of the American people. Donald Trump’s attempt to gerrymander as many states as possible to ensure control of Congress without the vast majority of Americans getting a fair say undermines American democracy itself. Instead of earning votes, Republicans and Donald Trump are trying to rig the election. I am running to clean up Congress so we can lower costs by passing term limits, age limits, and banning politicians from becoming lobbyists. We must make our leaders more beholden to the voters who elect them, not less.
Climate change has moved beyond academic debate and is now a national security crisis, with Americans dying and communities being displaced due to its effects. That means that we must approach it with the same fight that we apply to protecting Americans from terrorism and foreign adversaries. In Congress, I’ll combat climate change first and foremost by investing in clean energy, including solar, wind, and geothermal projects. We must also address PFAS and other toxic contamination in our water supply by increasing testing, accelerating cleanup, and holding the corporations responsible for the pollution accountable. That means protecting our open spaces by enforcing strict environmental standards on corporations to stop polluters. Lastly, unlike my opponent, I do not support reopening the broken and decrepit and glaring terrorism risk that is Indian Point, a hazard to the health and safety of the surrounding communities and environment.
Having spent 16 years on active duty in the Army, serving as a Special Operations leader, and deploying six times overseas to hunt down the world’s most dangerous terrorists, I know firsthand that it is much harder to keep Americans safe if we go it alone. The best way to protect our national security, our economy, and to address global challenges is through strong international institutions and strong alliances. That’s why we need strong alliances to stand up to China and Russia, and fair international rules so China cannot devastate New York businesses through trade manipulation.
