If elected to the Center Township Board of Trustees, my top priorities would be improving communication, transparency, and community engagement. I would create a township’s social media presence so residents can easily find updates, meeting notices, resources, and deadlines. I would also support creating a stand-alone township website, as many other trustee offices have, so information is easier to access. Finally, I would work to build stronger community engagement by creating more opportunities for residents to ask questions, share concerns, and learn about available township services.
I bring more than 20 years of local nonprofit project management experience, along with service on several boards that provide programs and services to Lake County residents. I have experience in social media creation, communications, content development, and website management. I retired from Legacy Foundation as Community Outreach and Engagement Manager, where I focused on partnerships, outreach, and connecting residents with resources
In today’s economic climate, we must make every dollar go as far as possible while still ensuring residents know help is available. I would focus on clear communication, careful recordkeeping, and data-informed decisions. By tracking the types of assistance provided and where it has the greatest impact, the township can better identify needs, reduce duplication, and direct limited resources where they matter most. I would also use social media, community partnerships, and outreach efforts to improve awareness, accuracy, and access to services.
My experience in community outreach, social media, and website management has shown me that communication has to be intentional and consistent. We cannot simply sit in an office and hope residents come to us. We need to be visible in the community, sharing information where people already are. I would use social media, a clear and accessible website, community partnerships, public events, and direct outreach to make sure residents know what services are available, how to access them, and who to contact when they need help.
