I’m Kallahan Beatty, a Howard County resident who works in the local behavioral health field. Through my work, I have gained firsthand experience helping people navigate difficult circumstances, connect with resources, and work toward greater stability. That experience has strengthened my belief in the importance of accessible community resources, responsible use of public funds, and treating people with dignity. I hope to bring that practical, compassionate, and community-focused perspective to public service on the Harrison Township Advisory Board.
My work in behavioral health has prepared me to approach public service with compassion, accountability, and a practical understanding of the challenges people in our community face. I regularly work with individuals navigating difficult circumstances, accessing resources, and building greater stability. That experience has taught me the importance of listening carefully, making responsible decisions, and recognizing that policies and resources have real effects on people’s lives. I would bring that perspective to overseeing township finances and services while remaining accountable to the residents of Harrison Township.
My top priorities are transparency, responsible financial oversight, and ensuring township resources are used effectively. I want residents to have a clearer understanding of what township government does, how taxpayer dollars are spent, and how decisions are made. I would also prioritize careful oversight of township assistance programs to ensure resources are administered responsibly and reach residents who qualify for support. Ultimately, I want to help make Harrison Township government more accessible, accountable, and understandable to the community it serves.

Hello, I’m Jeannine Welcher. I am running as a Democrat candidate for the Harrison Township Board. I’ve been married to my husband Alan for 15 years, together we have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. I spent 11 years as a Chrysler employee and a UAW Local 685 member. I am a strong supporter of unions and union workers! For 14 years we owned and managed successful businesses in the hospitality and event industry. We now like to spend our free time with family, camping and fishing. As a business owner I understand setting and working within a budget. I know how to be objective about wants vs. needs and how to categorize those against an existing budget. I’m not afraid of making tough, yet fair decisions.

As a business owner I learned to work within a budget. Being fiscally responsible means paying all bills currently due while also saving for the future.
I think it's always best to save to pay for things up front whenever possible to avoid spending money on interest, especially taxpayer money.
I want to help ensure that all agencies under the township are as funded as possible and also pledge to look for additional funding that can help the township.
Helping the citizens that need assistance with food, housing and utilities is also a top priority. Inflation is very high right now and food costs are impacting everyone.
People need help, I want to get taxpayer dollars back to the local areas that paid them, not see our tax dollars sent out of our state or even the country.
