Describe your background.
I was born and raised in Kokomo and graduated from Indiana University with a BA in English and a minor in history. After contemplating my career path, I began to understand that learning and teaching others is my passion, so I completed a transition to teaching program and spent the next several years teaching. After stepping away from teaching to start a family, I began vending at the Kokomo Farmers’ Market and quickly took over as Market Manager which I did for 10 years. In 2022, I created Radish Market & Cafe, an all-local grocery store and eatery in downtown Kokomo.
The Clerk’s office relies on three pillars: public trust, strict compliance, and financial management. My career is a masterclass in all three.
Teaching trained me to make complex information accessible to students, to communicate transparently, and to manage sensitive records with strict attention to privacy.
Through the farmers’ market, I mastered the logistics of local government with experience enforcing regulatory codes, managing large public events, and creating operational efficiency.
By owning a business, I understand fiscal accountability, balancing budgets, managing teams, and delivering excellent customer service.
I will lead the Clerk’s Office with a teacher’s heart and the customer-first efficiency of a business owner.
I am focused on improving accessibility and the way people interact with the Clerk’s Office by providing respectful and speedy customer service, access to government decisions, and information about office operations.
I will continue to modernize online services and make those services easier to navigate with a helpful, upgraded website that includes necessary forms and instructions so people can take care of their business from home or come to the office prepared to handle their needs.
I will continue the Election Board’s strong commitment to ensuring fair and secure elections with well-trained poll workers while also increasing understanding and awareness about voting and local elections.
