Raised and worked on family dairy farm, 31-year Career with Cornell Cooperative Extension including Coordinator of NY Ag in the Classroom and Exec. Director of CCE Chemung and CCE Tioga; also served as Interim Exec. Admin. of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier in 2023. Leader of the Move Forward Poverty Reduction Program.

Served on various Boards including Chemung and Tioga Ag and Farmland Protection, Chemung Human Relations Commission, Tioga Investigates Natural Gas, Rural Health Network of South Central NY, Racker, Food Bank of Southern Tier, Susan Christopherson Center for Community Planning, Unitarian Universalist Church of Athens and Sheshequin, Waverly on Track, etc

1. Improve Communication. I pledge to be much more visible than the incumbent. I will communicate regularly from Albany as well as meet with constituents in the district. To be an effective representative, you must be in relationship with the people.
2. Advocate for the constituents to make life more affordable. I will work to reduce utility rates, save nursing homes, lower costs and improve accessibility of child, health, and mental care. I will work to assure that people in the district have access to the information and resources they need to live a good life. I will stand up for human rights, especially for the most vulnerable.
3. Bring resources to the district. We must invest in our communities, building a solid foundation for all to thrive. I will help identify and secure necessary state funds for infrastructure, farms and food system, education, housing, small business, career training, and community development.
1. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Continue to push for cleaner energy options and solutions, however, allow for local input and options to fit the locality.
2. Energy conservation. Encourage home energy audits and improved insulation.
3. Thoughtful green energy development. Invest in solar, wind, geothermal, and even hydroelectric. Location of each using latest information, cost/benefit analysis, and least impact on farms/greenspace. I'm not in favor of nuclear energy and fracking should only be considered as a last resort and can learn from our neighbors in Pennsylvania.
4. Maintain pollution regulations. It's alarming to see the Trump administration remove federal regulations. NYS must keep them in place.
5. Support flood mitigation efforts and Community Resilience/ Emergency Preparation. We must do what we can to reduce the potential loss of life and property through education and training.
1. Support existing laws that protect the civil liberties of all people and consider adding additional protections for DEI, reproductive rights, and the those being targeted by the Trump administration (ie. LGBTQIA, immigrants, African American, etc.
2. Continue to push back against the federal administration's heavy handed immigration tactics.
I would need to review and better understand the current state congressional map before proposing anything specific.
