1) Affordable Housing. New York's housing shortage is driving up rents and pushing working people out of the communities they love. In the Senate, I'm fighting for stronger tenant protections, investments in affordable housing, and reforms that make it easier to build the homes New Yorkers need.
2) Mental Health & Healthcare. Healthcare is a human right. I’m a co-sponsor of the New York Health Act which would create a universal, publicly funded healthcare system for all state residents. As a survivor of mental health services, lower prescription drug costs, protect reproductive freedom, and ensure every New Yorker can get the care they need regardless of income.
3) The Environment. I have worked to protect New York’s natural resources, including passing two bills signed into law that strengthen the state’s ability to protect vulnerable marine species and supporting efforts to reduce pollution. I am committed to combating climate change and protecting clean air and water.
New York must continue leading the transition away from fossil fuels by rapidly expanding renewable energy, modernizing our electric grid, improving energy efficiency in our buildings, and investing in clean public transportation. We also need to recognize that climate change is already here, which means making major investments in resiliency — strengthening our waterfronts and infrastructure against flooding and extreme weather, expanding green infrastructure and tree cover, protecting our waterways and natural resources, and ensuring that communities most vulnerable to climate change receive the resources they need.
As a State Senator, I am committed to ensuring New York meets the goals of the CLCPA while making the clean-energy transition affordable and equitable for working families. I will continue working to reduce pollution, protect clean air and water, and build a cleaner, healthier and more resilient New York for future generations.
Building a more just New York requires eliminating systemic barriers and expanding opportunity for all. I’m fighting for investments that will reduce disparities in education, housing, healthcare, economic mobility & more, while ensuring our justice system treats every person equally.
Public education is the foundation of our society. We must fully fund our schools, support teachers, expand access to early childhood education, invest in special education & ensure every student has the resources they need to succeed.
The solution to homelessness is housing. We need more affordable housing, more supportive housing, stronger mental health services, addiction treatment, and pathways to permanent stability. We must address both the immediate humanitarian crisis & the housing shortage which is its root cause.
New Yorkers need relief from rising costs. I’m fighting against Trump’s tariffs while pursuing policies that will lower the cost of housing, childcare, healthcare & transportation.
States across the country are aggressively redrawing congressional districts to gain partisan advantage, leaving New York with little choice but to act to protect the voice and representation of our own voters.
I was proud to vote for a proposed constitutional amendment to strengthen New York’s redistricting process and ensure we have a fair, transparent, and functional system. And importantly, New Yorkers will have the final say, because these reforms cannot take effect without the approval of the voters.
