My priority would be making New York more affordable for working families and small businesses. As a small-business owner, I have seen how high taxes, over regulation, energy costs, and other rising expenses affect families, employers, and job creation. My agenda reduces costs on families by eliminating property taxes for seniors, state taxes on tips and retirements, and reducing state government by 30% and giving $80 billion back to taxpayers.
Public safety is very important, we need to make sure we put criminals where they belong - behind bars. It's simple, if people don't feel safe in their communities then our communities will fail -- one can just look at places like the City of Albany.
I will also fight for Upstate communities and laws that reflect their needs such as ending impractical and unaffordable electric mandates, passing a Farmers First tax credit to cover burdensome state mandates, a School Choice property tax rebate by redirecting billions in film tax credits.
While the climate has been changing since the dawn of time, I will pursue commonsense solutions that are practical and affordable that protect our environment and our freedoms. Our environmental laws need to be wholistic focused on sustainability not driven by activists who give millions of dollars to career politicians in Albany. There cannot be a one-size-fits all approach, which drive up costs on working families, like the crazy all electric automobile mandates and school bus mandate which will cost families billions of dollars - we need flexibility to use emerging clean technologies and laws that support innovation not end it.
An all-the-above energy policy focusing on sustainability and investing in grid infrastructure and solutions that allow people to be free from the grid if they choose. Relying on other states or countries for our energy is not a plan. The AI industrial revolution also demands that we look at ways for data centers to generate their own power onsite.
I will pursue policies that ensure New York is affordable and that every citizen receives equal protection under the laws of New York State, and that they have safe and clean communities, modern and safe infrastructure, good schools and choice in education, access to affordable housing and healthcare, good jobs and a sustainable economy, and equal opportunity -- regardless of who you are.
New York should ensure that its congressional and legislative districts comply fully with the Constitution, the Voting Rights Act, and the Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais. District lines should represent communities fairly and should not be drawn predominantly based on race. At the same time, every eligible New Yorker must continue to have an equal opportunity to participate in our elections. I would support a careful legal review of New York’s redistricting laws and maps to ensure that they comply with the Court’s ruling while respecting both equal protection and voting rights.

Experience and Qualifications
After a successful 30-year career in software and technology services, Carrie Woerner decided to devote herself to public service. First elected to the Round Lake Village Board in 2008, Carrie served in local government until 2014 when she was elected to represent the people of the 113th District in the State Assembly. She has earned a reputation for developing practical and bipartisan legislative solutions to problems and challenges faced by the people and communities of this region. Her legislative record includes improvements to healthcare delivery, the creation of the Opioid Settlement Fund, sportsmen-related bills, affordable housing and veterans related legislation. As chair of the Assembly's standing committee on Racing and Wagering, Carrie has focused on addressing problems gambling.
Community Involvement
In addition to her public service as an elected representative, Carrie served on the Malta Planning Board from 2008 to 2014. She served on the boards of directors for the Saratoga Center for the Family and Saratoga Arts. She has volunteered with the Wilton Food Pantry, Lifeworks, Mechanicville Area Community Services Center, Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation.

1) Address the high cost of health insurance and the closures of nursing homes and the shortage of primary care physicians and dentistry services.

1) Adopt a clean fuel standard based on renewable natural gas and renewable diesel to reduce emissions in the transportation sectors
2) Encourage carbon capture on industrial buildings and foster the use of the captured/sequestered carbon as a sustainable building material
3) Encourage forest conservation (with appropriate forestry management programs) and farmland conservation; expand support for grazing industries (beef and sheep/goats) that improve carbon sequestration and soil health improvements.
I strongly support equal access to education, employment, housing, healthcare. I strongly support ensuring that legal services and representation are available to all, regardless of means.
In 2022, we passed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act of New York to protect ballot access in those communities that have historically been disenfranchised. Certainly, if this is challenged and proven to not pass constitutional muster, I would advocate that it be revised and re-passed. At this time I think New York is in fine shape.
