The New York State Assembly is the lower chamber of the New York State Legislature. Alongside the New York State Senate, it forms the legislative branch of the New York state government and works alongside the governor of New York to create laws and establish a state budget. Legislative authority and responsibilities of the New York State Assembly include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.The New York State Assembly meets in the state capitol building in Albany, New York.Assembly District 107 includes parts of Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, and Washington counties.

Experience and Qualifications
Successfully led legislative meetings and lobby days, assisted in drafting legislation, worked to pass critical bills at all levels of government including the Executive, negotiated amendments, researched relevant topics and issue areas and pushed to advance client priorities that support a more equitable, affordable and prosperous New York State. Secured $340 million in state funding for the Healthy School Meals for All program, along with other funding and legislation to support food access, NYS farmers, child welfare initiatives, etc. Built bi-partisan coalitions in support of clean energy, healthcare and nursing, land conservation, etc.

1) Affordability across utilities, housing, healthcare, education, and food insecurity. Costs continue to rise as wages stay stagnant. Families should not have to choose between feeding their families and leaving the lights on. Our state has an obligation to help our families.
2) Access to healthcare and healthcare workers. Residents should not have to drive hours and sometimes to another state to receive care. I will expand healthcare coverage while supporting the nurses who care for our communities.
3) Pushing back on Washington. The Federal government is gutting our social programs, and I will fight back against inflation and tariffs, cap the gas tax, and hold companies accountable for price-gouging
There is a need for clean energy which can be enacted with solar expansion on parking lots and flat roofs. This will help communities be energy independent. Our farmlands need to be protected in this climate crisis, ensuring local agriculture can continue to thrive.
I believe equitable access to green spaces is important to all residents, and my work with Trust for Public Lands has begun that effort.
I worked to secure universal school meals, but the work is not done. I will work to continue to expand the program. Children do not stop being hungry just because school is not in session.
I recognize the need to keep our communities safe, and keep violent criminals off our streets. We need to support our diverse communities and ensure everyone has equal opportunity to succeed.
The redistricting process has been corrupted. The Supreme Court decision represents a reaction based in fear of what could be. There needs to be a larger solution on a national level on how to redistrict states, and specific timing and processes enacted to ensure equity and equality for all eligible voters.
