Alongside the New York State Senate, it forms the legislative branch of the New York state government and works alongside the governor of New York to create laws and establish a state budget. Legislative authority and responsibilities of the New York State Assembly include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.The New York State Assembly meets in the state capitol building in Albany, New York.Assembly District 45 includes parts of Kings county.

1. Public Safety & Fighting Antisemitism: Keep our neighborhoods safe, support effective law enforcement, strengthen protections against hate crimes, and ensure Jewish families can live, worship, and raise their children without fear.
2. Education: Fight for fair state funding for non-public and public schools, including increased per-pupil support and capital funding, so every child has access to a quality education.
3. Affordability & Quality of Life: Help families and small businesses manage rising costs while addressing the everyday issues that affect our neighborhoods, including infrastructure, sanitation, parks, transportation, and responsible development.
New York should take a practical approach to climate change by investing in resilient infrastructure, upgrading stormwater and drainage systems, and helping communities prepare for flooding and extreme weather. We should also expand clean-energy infrastructure while protecting families and small businesses from unnecessary increases in energy costs. State investments should prioritize projects that make our communities safer, more resilient, and better prepared for the impacts of a changing climate.
I will pursue policies that ensure every New Yorker is treated fairly and has equal access to opportunity, education, public services, and economic mobility. That means addressing discrimination wherever it occurs, supporting underserved communities, expanding opportunity for small businesses and working families, and ensuring that our laws are enforced fairly and consistently.
New York should carefully review the implications of Louisiana v. Callais and ensure that our redistricting laws continue to protect fair and meaningful representation for all communities. I would support strengthening New York’s existing safeguards against gerrymandering, protecting our communities representation, and ensuring that any future redistricting process is transparent, independent, and consistent with both the Constitution and the Voting Rights Act.
