1. Making New York more affordable. She is focused on cutting taxes for middle-class families and pushing back on rising utility costs that are putting additional pressure on household budgets. 2. Creating jobs and expanding economic opportunity. Charlene’s platform emphasizes job creation, small business growth, and policies that help Nassau County residents build their futures locally. 3. Strengthening education. She supports securing more state funding for local schools so students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
I believe New York needs a climate strategy that protects our environment while also protecting affordability, reliability, and quality of life. We should invest in stronger infrastructure to prepare communities for flooding, severe storms, coastal erosion, and other climate related damage. That includes improving drainage, protecting shorelines, strengthening roads and utilities, and expanding emergency preparedness. We should also encourage cleaner energy and energy efficiency through incentives, innovation, and infrastructure investment. The transition must be practical, affordable, and supported by a reliable electric grid. Homeowners, businesses, and municipalities should have access to grants and programs that help reduce energy use, improve resiliency, and lower long term costs. For Long Island, protecting our shoreline and preparing for severe weather must remain a priority. My approach is balanced. Protect the environment, strengthen infrastructure, support cleaner technology,
I would pursue policies that expand opportunity, strengthen fairness, and make sure every New Yorker has a real chance to succeed. That includes protecting equal treatment under the law, improving access to quality education, expanding pathways to good jobs, supporting MWBE businesses, and creating more opportunities for homeownership and economic mobility. I also believe state resources should reach communities that have historically been overlooked. Justice also requires accountability, safe neighborhoods, fair enforcement of anti-discrimination laws, and strong public institutions. My approach would be practical and results driven. I want to remove barriers, expand opportunity, and make sure families have a fair chance to build a better future, regardless of race, ZIP code, or background.
I believe New York should respond to Louisiana v. Callais by protecting fair elections, equal treatment under the law, and the independent redistricting process approved by voters. New York should not use this decision as an excuse to weaken safeguards or give politicians greater control over district lines. I support strong voting rights protections, clear constitutional standards, keeping communities together where possible, and preserving an independent process that promotes public trust. Any changes to redistricting should be transparent and voter focused, not driven by partisan advantage. The principle is simple. Voters should choose their representatives, and representatives should not choose their voters.
