The New York HEAT Act, Lead Service Line Replacement Act, and other legislation designed to strengthen enforcement of existing climate laws.

The New York For All Act is a priority bill I support to protect New Yorkers, alongside a slate of proposed bills to improve racial equity, reduce systemic discrimination, and end human rights violations.

While our state already has some of the strongest protections in the nation, we should ensure full fortification of state law to address the gaps created by Louisiana v. Callais, even if that means a state constitutional amendment.

Keeping NY affordable so our retirees can stay here and our young people can start a life and buy a home here. Safety of our residents. Protecting our water supply and our harbors. AD 12 has over 60 miles of coastline and our stormwater management, coastal resiliency and protecting our aquifer are paramount.

NY should focus on practical policies that make communities more resilient to impacts we already experience. In AD12, with over 60 miles of coastline, coastal resiliency, flooding & stormwater management are especially important. As Village Trustee, I'm addressing challenges like coastal resiliency planning, stormwater management, shoreline protection & water quality. I've learned NY can make a real difference helping municipalities fund & implement infrastructure projects that they can't afford on their own. I support greater state funding of resilient shorelines, modern stormwater infrastructure, flood mitigation, protection of harbors & wetlands, and infrastructure planning accounting for sea-level rise & severe storms. State programs should give localities flexibility to develop solutions that work for their individual communities. Climate policy shouldn't only be about long-term goals, but protecting homes, businesses, infrastructure natural resources from impacts we already see.

I believe social and racial justice begins with a simple principle: every New Yorker deserves equal treatment under the law and a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of race, background or where they live. As a former police officer and now a local elected official, I believe we can support public safety while insisting that our laws are enforced fairly and consistently. Those principles are not mutually exclusive. I support strong enforcement of civil rights and anti-discrimination laws, particularly in housing, employment and education. I believe in expanding access to quality education, workforce training, good-paying jobs and homeownership so that opportunity is available in every community. Government should judge people as individuals, protect their civil rights, and remove unlawful barriers preventing success. My goal is a New York where everyone receives equal protection under the law and has a genuine opportunity to build a better future themselves and their families.

New York must ensure that every eligible voter has an equal opportunity to participate in our elections and that our election laws comply with both the U.S. Constitution and the Voting Rights Act. Following the Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais, I believe New York should carefully review its redistricting laws and practices to ensure they comply with the Court’s ruling while continuing to protect voters from unlawful discrimination. Legislative districts should be drawn using lawful, transparent criteria and should not be manipulated to diminish the voting power of any community. If changes to state law are necessary to protect equal access to the ballot or ensure a fair and constitutional redistricting process, I would be willing to consider them. The goal should be straightforward: fair elections, equal treatment of voters, and public confidence in the integrity of the process.
