The current white house administration is not working within the culture and constitution. It also has a vendetta against states that did not vote for him. 2-Energy: Solar, Wind and Geothermal with natural gas as the bridge fuel for intermittency: Our state lost much to this republican administration which is hell bent on eliminating alternate energy and enforcing harmful fossil fuels and expensive and dangerous nuclear power. 3-Common citizen protections: ensuring universal health care, immigration worker protection, fair wages, farmers get a fair shake in spite of burdensome tariffs that have created reduced export demand.

To effectively and address climate change is to address the world. Climate change requires everyone's cooperation. We must embrace the technology from successful countries in climate change like Denmark and Germany. To address the damage caused by climate change is more to prepare for those changes. Whether its making homes sit higher off the ground, building dams and canals to channel the water away. Once the damage is done there is little one can do because whether its a drought or a flood this is the new paradigm. We may be able to pick up the pieces now but in the future we either prepare or suffer the consequences. Our biggest roadblock right now is the current federal administration that is clearly disconnected from reality.

I believe social and racial justice begins with a simple principle: every person should receive equal treatment under the law and a fair opportunity to build a secure life, regardless of race, income, ZIP code, disability, religion, gender, or political influence. Government cannot guarantee equal outcomes, but it has an obligation to make sure the rules are fair and that those rules are enforced equally.

One area I would focus on is economic justice. Too often, working people pay their taxes while large corporations receive tax exemptions, subsidies, PILOT agreements, and other incentives that are difficult for the public to follow. I would support greater transparency and accountability for IDAs, economic-development grants, and tax-abatement programs. If a company receives public assistance in exchange for jobs, investment, or community benefits, taxpayers should be able to see whether those promises were actually kept.

This is difficult because of NYS varied political and geographic landscape. Fortunately NYS laws are pretty strong in that it takes into account political jerrymandering. Once again we see the possibility opening up a states rights issue could occur because Louisanna v. Callias does not include political jerrymandering a factor. We must consider the state involved and the motivation behind this ruling. Louisiana has always been a racially contentious state. This court decision coincidentally and curiously had to do with Mike Johnson's district such a decision ensured the voting would stay favorable for him. In short, on this one, NYS should keep one eye open.
