Experience and Qualifications
I've spent 30 years as a healthcare provider and small business owner, running Oceanview Manor Home for Adults and serving on the board of NYSCAL. That work has meant caring for some of our most vulnerable residents every single day, while also navigating everything that comes with running a small business — managing a team, meeting payroll, and dealing with regulations that don't always make sense. I've spent years advocating in Albany on behalf of assisted living facilities that too often get overlooked, so I know firsthand how state policy plays out in people's real lives. That's the experience and perspective I'll bring to the State Senate.

Healthcare: After 30 years in this industry, I know how hard it is for families to access affordable care. I'll fight to lower prescription drug costs, cut through insurance barriers, and make sure seniors have real support to age in place with dignity.
Housing: Long Island's housing crisis is pushing young people out and leaving seniors with nowhere to downsize to. I'll push for more affordable housing options and work to cut the red tape that makes building here so slow and expensive.
Public Safety: Every family in SD9 deserves to feel safe in their community. I'll support our police and first responders while working to strengthen safety in our schools and neighborhoods.
Meeting the CLCPA's goals is critical, but we have to get there responsibly. In ways of investing in clean energy and grid resiliency, replacing leak-prone gas pipe that's driving a big share of emissions, and expanding green jobs and workforce training so the transition creates opportunity, not hardship. Just as important, we need to keep affordability at the center of every climate policy, so families and seniors aren't priced out of energy while we build a cleaner future.
I'll push for strong legislation combating antisemitism and hate crimes of all kinds, along with policies that expand equal access to housing, healthcare, and economic opportunity for every community in SD9. Real justice means every family, regardless of background, has a fair shot at building a good life here.
This ruling narrows the Voting Rights Act's ability to protect minority representation in redistricting, which makes it even more important for New York to have strong protections at the state level. I'd support strengthening and fully enforcing New York's own John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act to fill the gap left by a weaker federal VRA, protecting the integrity of our independent redistricting process against future gerrymandering, and continuing to defend robust voter protection laws so every community's vote carries real weight, regardless of what happens at the federal level.
