The New York State Senate is the upper house of the New York State Legislature. Its sixty-three members represent New York State and its more than 19 million citizens. The legislature’s primary purpose is to draft and approve changes to the laws of New York.These changes are driven by complex public policy issues. To effectively represent the will of the people, senators must gain a deep understanding of those issues and how they impact New Yorkers.New York State s 1st Senate District includes parts of Suffolk County.

He has served as Chair of the Board for Citizens Campaign for the Environment, President of Nassau County Mental Health Association, President of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, and Founder of the Autism Legal Foundation (which provided pro bono legal services to adults on the autism spectrum).

Lowering the cost of living for Long Islanders, protecting the environment, and protecting our rights against the policies of the Trump Administration.
An implementation of the cap and invest program, previously adopted in 2019, which would limit the total amount of carbon pollution.
I support the New York Health Act so every New Yorker can avoid facing financial ruin from getting sick.
New York has to continue to protect everyone who is eligible right to vote. I have called for increase state penalties for anyone who tries to intimidate someone who is trying to vote and to give New York' Attorney General the jurisdiction to enforce.
