Growing up in the 70s and 80s, junior high and high school indoctrinated us in peaceful coexistence. This generation has forgotten that. The media use to inform us of current events. No more..it is now a propaganda machine ! Major media seeks to dominate our perception of truth. This generation is raised on instant gratification...which expedites self destruction. Every good thing is life takes time and a lot of hard work!
Government should oversee and excercise oversight with all campaign contributions. It's odd how any political candidate wishing to serve our community yet these candidates needs to stick their hands into our savings. Shouldn't they show their ability by supporting themselves .above all candidates should inspire and motivate our community not create a dependency on the government!
It would be nice if District can be drawn into sector boxes instead of color or creed. We are all American wanting the best for our common good, to divide according to color and creed only further the racism
As many scientists advocating for climate changes , there equally amount of skepticism. As a New Yorker for 52 years , our coastline haven't changed
While participating is international organization advocating for global peace is of utmost importance, equal participation and sharing of responsibility is just. In the case of America being the big brother , our European counterpart is doing business with Russia while USA is footing the expenses doesn't make any kind of sense
Experience and Qualifications
Before serving in Congress, I was a public interest lawyer and a New York State Assemblymember. I am currently serving my seventh term in Congress and have a demonstrated record of delivering for my district on the issues that directly affect working families. I’m proud to provide responsive and effective constituent services in multiple languages for my community.
Community Involvement
My favorite part of being a Congresswoman is the close work we get to do with the community. Our district office is a constant resource for constituents on matters relating to veterans benefits, small business support, immigration assistance, and other services. I am also proud to attend and host regular community celebrations that feature the broad diversity of our district – including celebrations of holidays from Lunar New Year, to Eid, Passover, Easter, and more.

Affordability: Costs are skyrocketing and Queens families are feeling the pain. I’ve worked hard to bring down costs, making menstrual products more affordable for women and girls, delivering paid leave and affordable child care for working parents, raising wages for workers, capping prescription drug costs for seniors, and expanding SNAP benefits for low-income families who rely on them.
Immigration: I’m fighting to hold ICE accountable for its violence and abuse of power. I introduced legislation to make ICE agents display their badge and hold them to the same standards and oversight as other law enforcement. I’ve worked to reunite families separated by ICE, end family and child detention, and stop raids at our schools, hospitals, and places of worship.
Healthcare: Healthcare is a human right. I am a proud original co-sponsor of the Medicare for All Act. Now is the time to build a healthcare system that works for all of us, not just the wealthy and corporations.
We need to get big money out of politics. I am proud to be endorsed by End Citizens United and support a constitutional amendment to ban SuperPAC spending in federal elections. A level playing field benefits all candidates and puts working and middle-class voices back at the center of our democracy.
It’s a travesty. Americans marched, fought, and bled to secure the Voting Rights Act. Each time it is eroded, Americans lose faith in the power of their vote. I am a proud co-sponsor of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act – legislation that would restore VRA protections, make voter registration easier, and ensure stronger oversight of elections to prevent discrimination.
Climate change is an existential threat. I am proud to support the Green New Deal and have voted for billions in investments for renewable energy and climate adaptation projects. We also need support for our communities that are already experiencing the worst effects of climate disaster. After Hurricane Ida, I helped deliver millions in grant funding for flood mitigation and recovery for vulnerable neighborhoods in Queens. I also brought home over $1 million to create a floating Social-Ecological Resilience Hub in Flushing Bay.
Diplomacy and international cooperation should be at the heart of our foreign policy. In that spirit, I have voted for every War Powers resolution this year to stop Donald Trump’s dangerous wars of choice in Venezuela and Iran. I also support continued American leadership in NATO, assistance to Ukraine as they repel Russian invasion, and continued participation in the United Nations.
