As a lifelong resident, I can uniquely identify with my fellow Mahwah residents, and understand what we need in our community. By drawing from both my municipal police career and my experience as a Federal officer with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security I have the skillset to ensure safety and welfare of Mahwah. And through my many volunteer community service roles I have the experience to be the best candidate for Mahwah.
The annual budget is expected to pay; employee salaries, purchase supplies, pay utility bills, and for minor maintenance. While we can responsibly use the capital budget to provide new infrastructure and physical assets. Such as fixing roads, buying townships vehicles like police cars & fire trucks, constructing athletic/rec facilities, replacing water mains, ect.
Keeping property taxes as low as possible is a key focus and we can accomplish this through making fiscally responsible decisions as well as intelligent planning.
We all share our Earth, it is important that we take steps to protect it. Not only in Mahwah but in all communities, states and countries around the globe. On Earth Day it is everyone’s turn to do at least one thing for our planet and leading by example is the best way to make a difference.

The three most important challenges facing Mahwah are fiscal responsibility, responsible development, and restoring cooperation and public trust in local government. We need to manage debt and taxes responsibly, make smart decisions about development that strengthen our tax base without overburdening our infrastructure, and make the most of the assets we already own. Just as important, residents deserve a government that listens, communicates openly, and works collaboratively. My goal is to help create a more transparent, responsible, and cooperative government focused on Mahwah’s long-term future.
My personal and professional experiences have taught me the importance of preparation, accountability, and working with others to solve problems. Through my involvement in Mahwah, I have spent significant time researching our finances, debt, development, municipal assets, and long-term planning. I have also worked on community-focused initiatives involving seniors and local services. These experiences have reinforced my belief that good decisions require listening, asking questions, understanding the facts, and working collaboratively. I would bring that same approach to Township government.
For the annual operating budget, my priority is maintaining essential services while controlling costs and protecting taxpayers. We should regularly evaluate spending, look for efficiencies, and make sure taxpayer dollars are directed toward the services residents rely on most.
For the capital budget, my priority is long-term planning and fiscal discipline. We should prioritize necessary infrastructure, public safety, and projects that protect or improve Township assets while limiting unnecessary borrowing. Capital projects should be evaluated based on their useful life, long-term cost, and impact on taxpayers. Whenever possible, Mahwah should use pay-as-you-go funding, grants, outside contributions, and other available resources before re
Keeping property taxes manageable requires more than simply cutting services. I would focus on controlling spending, reducing unnecessary borrowing, managing municipal debt, and regularly reviewing Township-owned assets and expenses for savings or additional revenue. We should also work to expand the commercial tax base through responsible development and redevelopment without creating disproportionate costs for residents. By planning capital projects carefully, pursuing grants and outside funding, and making better use of existing resources, Mahwah can continue providing quality services while reducing pressure on property taxpayers.
I would support practical, fiscally responsible steps that reduce Mahwah’s vulnerability to extreme weather while protecting taxpayer dollars. This includes improving stormwater management and drainage, maintaining and expanding tree cover where appropriate, protecting wetlands and open space, improving energy efficiency in municipal buildings, especially the new DPW, energy-saving technology when it provides a reasonable return on investment. I would also support planning for future infrastructure needs, particularly flooding and stormwater concerns. My approach would be focused on measurable local benefits, responsible spending, and preparing Mahwah for changing weather conditions rather than pursuing policies simply for their appearance.
