South Amboy City Council {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

South Amboy's governing body is comprised of the Mayor and the five-member City Council. The mayor is elected directly by the voters. The City Council is comprised of five members, two of whom are elected on an at-large basis while three are elected from wards. All members of the governing body are elected in partisan elections to serve four-year terms of office on a staggered basis in even-numbered years as part of the November general election, with the three ward seats up for election together and the two at-large seats and the mayoral seat up for vote together two years later.
