What is the most important issue facing your Single Member District (SMD) and how do you intend to address it?
How will you engage with residents to be an effective Commissioner, especially reaching those who are unfamiliar with the role and value of ANCs?
Public safety and housing are the most pressing issues facing SMD 8C08. Our residents deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods and have access to safe, stable, and well-maintained housing. These priorities are closely connected to the overall strength of our community, including access to healthy food, resources, and economic opportunity. I will continue advocating for safer neighborhoods, holding agencies and housing stakeholders accountable, expanding grocery options and resources, and ensuring Black families, seniors, and youth benefit from investment in our community. My approach is to listen, build partnerships, elevate residents’ concerns directly to decision-makers, and follow through until we see meaningful progress.
Effective representation starts with being present and accessible. I will continue meeting residents where they are—at community meetings, neighborhood events, senior gatherings, and through direct outreach, email, social media, and door-to-door engagement. I also want residents who may not know what an ANC does to understand that their Commissioner can be a direct connection to District agencies and decision-makers. I will share resources and regular updates, create opportunities for residents to raise concerns, and follow up on the issues they bring forward. Every resident should know who represents them, how to reach me, and that their voice matters.
