Biographical Information

What is the most important issue facing your Single Member District (SMD) and how do you intend to address it?

How will you engage with residents to be an effective Commissioner, especially reaching those who are unfamiliar with the role and value of ANCs?

Qualifications My work has always centered on helping people navigate systems, solve problems, and make sure their concerns are heard. I bring experience in education, advocacy, and organizational leadership, along with a strong commitment to follow-through. Those experiences have prepared me to listen to residents, work with District agencies, and be a consistent voice for the community.
The most important issue facing my SMD is making sure that investment in our community is intentional, equitable, and responsive to the people who have lived here for generations. Ward 7 has a strong history, deep community ties, and neighborhoods shaped in large part by Black families who built lives here even when public and private investment did not always reach our side of the city in the same way. I would address this by pushing for stronger accountability from District agencies, better communication with residents, and development that responds to actual neighborhood needs.
I would focus on being visible, accessible, and consistent. That means meeting residents where they are, not just expecting them to attend ANC meetings, and clearly explaining what the ANC does and how it can help. I would use community events, neighborhood outreach, email, and social media to keep residents informed and give them easy ways to raise concerns. Most importantly, I want residents to know who their commissioner is, how to reach me, and that I will follow up.
