Biographical Information
What is the most important issue facing your Single Member District (SMD) and how do you intend to address it?
How will you engage with residents to be an effective Commissioner, especially reaching those who are unfamiliar with the role and value of ANCs?
QualificationsI have lived in DC for over four years, and the greater Washington area for almost a decade. In addition, I have over three years of experience working in state and local government in Arlington County. As the former Policy Director for a Virginia State Senator representing Arlington (a municipality neighboring and very similar to DC), I have experience helping connect constituents to government services, building relationships with local institutions and businesses, and advocating for policy that benefits my community through legislation and funding.

Road safety—it's the number one issue I hear about on my street, and the reason I decided to run in the first place. The crowded, narrow streets between H Street and Florida Ave, particularly two-way streets, have caused numerous accidents and injuries over the years—including in my household. In 2025, a reckless driver crashed into a group of over 10 parked card on my street, totaling several, including my roommate's. As your ANC, I'll push DDOT to act on the specific dangerous intersections and corridors (5th St NE and M St NE for instance) in my district rather than waiting for the next major accident to force action. I'll ask for two-way roads to be made one-way, and for more speed bumps to be put in to reduce reckless driving.
As an ANC commissioner, I won't have the bandwidth to hear from every constituent on every issue, and I know that the loudest voices at a public meeting—often homeowners with the time and standing to attend weeknight hearings—are not representative of the full neighborhood, especially renters, young people, and working parents who are underrepresented in these forums by default. My approach will be to actively solicit input through multiple channels beyond ANC meetings—door-knocking, digital surveys, office hours at a coffee shop, and outreach specifically to renters and residents who don't typically engage with local government—rather than waiting for people to come to me.
