Biographical Information
What is the most important issue facing your Single Member District (SMD) and how do you intend to address it?
How will you engage with residents to be an effective Commissioner, especially reaching those who are unfamiliar with the role and value of ANCs?
As we do our fair share of solving the region’s housing crisis, we deserve our fair share of investments in the community and amenity improvements. When the ANC negotiates with developers, I’ve pressed for two things: (1) more affordable housing (30% generally or more multi-bedroom family units) and (2) build more amenities for the neighborhood, like sidewalks, medians, green space, and safety improvements.
I’ve also worked with the Mayor and Council to help secure funds for the proposed Eckington/Edgewood Library, pushed successfully for a public restroom in Tanner Park, and our fair share of community investment and improvements.
I think you have a right to know what your ANC is up to. I hold office hours, make sure ANC 5F agendas are posted a week ahead of time with what we’re voting on, and that our ANC 5F website is quickly updated with all the documents and actions.
I’ve made sure our meetings are hybrid - both in-person and virtual - so that you can listen in and speak up even if you’re at home cleaning up dinner or putting the kids to bed.
