Qualifications 14-year resident of the neighborhood, currently living at 4th and R with my wife and two sons. As a former engineer, I look forward to carefully listening to all residents and jointly developing solutions to our common problems.
Safety is the most important issue in our neighborhood. And by that I mean being safe from crime, harassment, or dangerous drivers and other road users. Everyone from children to seniors should be able to get around freely and without worry.

The way I will address it is by 1) encouraging more homes and businesses, which will increase eyes on the street and 2) promoting street safety improvements such as protected bike lanes and bus lanes. In addition to promoting safety, these improvements also help connect residents to opportunity through more jobs and amenities in the neighborhood, and easier connections beyond it.
While the Commission holds regular meetings, I will also engage with residents at other neighborhood events such as civic association meetings, school and church events, and any other neighborhood gatherings to which I am invited or that are open to the public. Regular email and paper updates will help engage the rest of the neighbors who may not already be connected.
