Qualifications I’m a 13-year DC resident and have happily called Petworth home for the past five years. I’ve spent my career organizing around the country to elect climate champions and build the political power we need to tackle the climate crisis. Currently, I’m the Campaign Director at an organization called Lead Locally that supports, fundraises, and gets out the vote for state and city candidates working to tackle the climate crisis.

Affordable housing. Residents in my neighborhood continue to experience the impacts of rising rents and home prices. This is particularly true for younger residents starting careers here, Black residents who grew up in the District, and young families who can’t find a place to raise kids affordably.

If elected, I would tackle this: 1 - By advocating for tenants undergoing unfair treatment by their landlord in district, and connecting them to city resources. 2 - By working with developers abiding by the city’s zoning laws to garner community support for new developments and oppose unnecessary hurdles towards construction 3 - By connecting constituents looking to rent a spare room or expand the number of units on their property to the appropriate city resources
My 3 priorities as Commissioner would be:

Safer Streets for Pedestrians & Bikers: I’ll ensure neighbors are up to date on the redevelopment of Grant Circle, and advocate for traffic-calming measures on Upshur that make it easier for everyone to get around our neighborhood safely.

Better Communication with Neighbors: I want to make it easier to find info about city services, upcoming meetings, & local events through a monthly email listserv and staying on top of constituent requests.

Supporting Our Local Businesses: As Upshur and our neighborhood develop, I want the ANC to be a helpful partner to small businesses as they navigate city processes and become part of the neighborhood.
