Qualifications I'm a Lafayette Elementary School parent, a community volunteer, and a working professional who has chosen to raise my family in Chevy Chase, DC. I care deeply about where my family is growing up. I co-chair the Lafayette Belonging Committee of the Home and School Association and the annual Lafayette Elementary Book Fair to raise funds for the school and provide access to books. I also work across public, private, and nonprofit sectors to connect people with opportunities to advance important missions. Some of my most rewarding work is navigating difficult conversations and finding ways to move forward among people with different perspectives.

An important issue right now is related to expanding housing availability in our area. There are a lot of strong feelings on all sides. At the end of the day, it's important for our neighborhood to do its part to address the housing shortage in the District, including providing more affordable and accessible homes. This conversation is taking place currently around the revitalization of our Civic Core (Library and Community Center), where there are plans to provide housing on top of new buildings. It is also beginning to take place around the planned expansion of the Ingleside senior living community in my SMD. These are significant opportunities to allow new neighbors to join us allow current residents to stay in the community. I'm sure we can find a way forward that respects all voices.
I truly enjoyed the process of gathering signatures to be on the ballot! Knocking on doors and meeting neighbors was so energizing. I met so many people who are similar to me and different from me - but something we all have in common is that we love where we live. I want to hear more from neighbors about what they want for Chevy Chase - how we can build a community, not just all live in the same space. I plan on knocking on many, many more doors, taking many, many walks with neighbors and friends, being available for coffee and front-porch chatting, and participating in even more community events. Engaging with neighbors is the best part of running for Commissioner so I'm looking forward to as much of it as I can get.
