Duties: Serves as a member of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC). Commissioners represent the views of residents of their Single Member District (SMD). After deliberation and votes, the ANC Commission advises the Mayor, Council and executive agencies in local matters such as parking, zoning, traffic, liquor licenses, permits, etc.Deberes: Se desempeña como miembro de la “Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC)”. Los comisionados representan las opiniones de los residentes de su distrito miembro único “Single Member District(SMD)”. Después de la deliberación y las votaciones, la Comisión del ANC asesora al alcalde, al consejo y a las agencias ejecutivas en asuntos locales como estacionamiento, zonificación, tráfico, licencias de venta de bebidas alcohólicas, permisos, etc.

What is the most important issue facing your Single Member District (SMD) and how do you intend to address it?

How will you engage with residents to be an effective Commissioner, especially reaching those who are unfamiliar with the role and value of ANCs?

Qualifications I have lived and worked in and near the District since 1974. I have lived in my SMD for 8 years. I am a retired lawyer familiar with public participation processes and issues
Insufficient Housing and infrastructure, traffic, kcal if adequate shopping and rats. I work to help fund the Main Street, maintain good housing for formerly homeless residents and coordinate with District government agencies to improve and expedite their services.
I use e mail to reach the majority of residents in my SMD through their building and informal systems, work with our community associations and Main Street and always respond to questions and suggestions.
