Duties: Serves as a member of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC). Commissioners represent the views of residents of their Single Member District (SMD). After deliberation and votes, the ANC Commission advises the Mayor, Council and executive agencies in local matters such as parking, zoning, traffic, liquor licenses, permits, etc.Deberes: Se desempeña como miembro de la “Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC)”. Los comisionados representan las opiniones de los residentes de su distrito miembro único “Single Member District(SMD)”. Biographical Information
What is the most important issue facing your Single Member District (SMD) and how do you intend to address it?
How will you engage with residents to be an effective Commissioner, especially reaching those who are unfamiliar with the role and value of ANCs?
Staying affordable for the people who already live here. Park View and Pleasant Plains are changing fast, and longtime renters and fixed-income homeowners feel it first. I support more homes, especially along Georgia Avenue, and I'll press hard on projects that ask the ANC for flexibility on required income-restricted and family-sized units. I'll also make sure residents hear about tenant rights and tax relief in time to take advantage of them.
By being useful first. Most people meet their commissioner over a real problem, like rats in the alley, a parking change, or a missed trash pickup, so I answer, go look at the problem myself, and explain plainly what the ANC can do. I also reach people who never see an agenda through block contacts, flyers, neighborhood lists, and a phone number they can call or text. I never assume English is the best way to reach someone, and I make what I share readable for people who use screen readers or need larger text. When a tree came down on the power lines on my block, the safety notice I left at each door was in seven languages.

Rats. I want to get rid of them by rat proofing trash bins and destroying rat burrows. The rats are part of a larger feedback loop that only exists due to governmental neglect, I will clean that rot.
I will do monthly surveys and knock doors consistently; I plan on hosting social events and putting myself in front of my constituents should I be elected.
