Voters of each township elect three members to the township board for 4-year terms. The township board has the same responsibilities within the township as those exercised by the county council. Those duties include adopting the annual township budget, fixing the tax rate for various funds, fixing the salaries of elected and appointed officers and employees of the township, excluding constables, township assessors and employees of county assessors. The board must keep a record of its proceedings.

I am driven by a commitment to community connection and governance transparency. With over twenty years of experience in leadership, including a PhD in Global Leadership, with a current career in Higher Education. I offer a unique blend of academics and practical business management. My former background in Retail Management overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets and hundreds of employees has prepared me to ensure fiscal accountability while navigating the complex needs of diverse stakeholders. I am running to bridge the gap between local government and the residents of New Haven & Southeast Fort Wayne, ensuring that every tax dollar is used effectively to foster inclusive community development and reliable public service.
While the bill provides relief to taxpayers by capping levy increases, it naturally constrains revenue for township services. My background in strategic planning and grant writing will be essential in identifying alternative funding sources to supplement property tax revenue. I will apply my experience in continuous improvement to audit township operations, ensuring we maintain high-quality services, without exceeding legislative caps. Accountability is critical under SB1. I am committed to governance transparency, so residents see exactly how restricted funds are prioritized to meet our township's most pressing needs.
I am running for the Adams Township Board because, I believe help should be easier to reach when a family is in crisis. I know what it feels like to need assistance, and I have spent more than 20 years serving families in our community. I have seen working residents struggle to pay for basic needs, yet find that they earn too much to qualify for help. I want to bring that perspective to the board, take a careful look at the township’s assistance standards, and ask whether they reflect what it actually costs to live here today. I also want to be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars. I ran because I believe we can move the needle one thoughtful decision at a time, while treating every person who asks for help with dignity.
I support relief for homeowners. I also want to make sure we understand what SB1 means for Adams Township’s revenue, so we can budget responsibly and keep help available to residents in need.

Always voted as soon as I was old enough. Never ran for an office.
Never too late to get involved in the community that I have lived in for over fifty years. Was approached to fill a need. Will be nice to give back to the community.
Will need to be more careful when distributing the money that we are entrusted with. Making sure that it goes as far as possible doing the best that is possible for the situation.Never too late
