My priorities are improving student achievement, supporting and retaining quality teachers, strengthening transparency and parental involvement, maintaining safe schools, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
I want to keep the focus on strong academics, especially Math, English Language Arts, Science, and critical-thinking skills, while making sure teachers have the resources and support they need to succeed.
I also believe parents and teachers should work together. The Board should communicate openly about important policies, curriculum, and decisions affecting students and give both parents and educators a meaningful voice.
School safety is also essential, including physical security, discipline, bullying prevention, and student well-being.
Finally, I would carefully review spending, prioritize resources that directly benefit students and classrooms, and look for savings before asking taxpayers for more.
I would implement these priorities by working collaboratively, setting measurable goals, reviewing results regularly, and holding the district accountable for progress. That reflects my commitment to “Parents & Teachers Together.”
Sayreville already offers valuable academic, career, and fine arts programs, and I would build on those strengths while addressing areas that need improvement.
First, we must strengthen Math, English Language Arts, Science, and critical-thinking skills, using student performance data to identify gaps and ensuring teachers have the resources and support they need.
Second, college should not be the only path to success. I would strengthen vocational and career opportunities in skilled trades, technology, business, healthcare, construction, electrical, plumbing, and automotive fields through partnerships with vocational schools, businesses, unions, community colleges, and apprenticeship programs. We should also expand internships, job-shadowing, and other real-world experiences.
I also support fine and performing arts, including music, theater, and visual arts, which help students develop creativity and discover their talents.
Most importantly, I would listen to teachers and students before making major changes. My goal is a balanced education that prepares every student for college, technical training, an apprenticeship, military service, or the workforce.
I believe the school budget should follow one basic principle: put students and classrooms first.
I would protect—and increase where necessary—funding for teachers and support staff, classroom instruction, core academics such as Math, English, and Science, special education, and effective school safety measures. We need to attract and retain good teachers and make sure they have the resources they need to help students succeed.
When looking for savings, I would start away from the classroom. I would carefully review administrative expenses, outside consultants, duplicated services, contracts, technology purchases, and programs that are costly but do not demonstrate clear benefits for students.
My strategy would be a line-by-line, results-based review, rather than across-the-board cuts. I would ask: Is this necessary? Is it working? Is there a more effective or less expensive alternative?
As a small-business owner and taxpayer, I understand the importance of using limited resources wisely. Fiscal responsibility does not simply mean spending less—it means eliminating waste, measuring results, and directing our resources toward teachers, classrooms, and student achievement.
Yes. At-risk students can include those struggling academically, students with disabilities, multilingual learners, students facing economic or family hardship, and those experiencing bullying, attendance, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges.
My priority would be early identification and intervention. Teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents should work together to identify problems before students fall further behind and provide appropriate academic support, counseling, special education, or other needed services.
I strongly believe parents must be partners in this process. Families should be informed, involved, and given clear access to available resources, including support for families facing language barriers.
Finally, the Board should regularly evaluate these programs to ensure they are producing measurable results. The goal should be simple: identify problems early, involve families, support teachers, and give every student the opportunity to succeed.
I believe sex education should be age-appropriate, medically accurate, transparent to parents, and focused on students’ health and safety, while complying with New Jersey law and educational standards.
I would support policies giving parents clear access to the curriculum and instructional materials before they are taught, as well as clear information about their legal right to opt their child out of specific instruction when permitted by law.
For younger students, the focus should be on personal safety, healthy boundaries, respect, and protection from abuse. More detailed topics involving human sexuality, reproduction, sexually transmitted infections, and consent should be taught at developmentally appropriate grade levels.
I would also support regular curriculum reviews with meaningful input from parents, teachers, and health educators.
My goal is to ensure that health education is age-appropriate, educationally sound, transparent, and respectful of the important role parents play in raising their children.
I believe the primary responsibility of our schools is education and the safety and well-being of every student. Immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility, not the role of teachers or the Board of Education.
Every eligible child should be able to attend school, learn, and be treated with dignity and respect. The district should follow federal and New Jersey law regarding student privacy, school security, and interactions with immigration authorities.
If immigration enforcement affects a student's attendance, emotional well-being, or academic performance, existing counseling and support services should be available.
Schools should not become political battlegrounds over immigration. Our responsibility is to follow the law, protect students, support their education, and keep our focus on teaching and learning.
