The three-member Township Board provides financial oversight, approves the budget and appropriations, reviews the Trustee's financial reports, and helps ensure township funds are being spent responsibly and in the best interests of residents.
I have served as treasurer for several different organizations, where I was responsible for overseeing expenditures, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring that funds were spent according to the guidelines and criteria established by each organization.
I am a detail-oriented person who understands the importance of accountability and responsible financial management. I believe my experience reviewing expenditures and managing organizational finances will allow me to provide thoughtful oversight of the township’s budget and help ensure that taxpayer funds are properly allocated and disbursed.
My two top priorities as a Township Board member would be financial responsibility and serving the residents of Scott Township.
First, I would provide careful oversight of the township’s finances. Taxpayer dollars should be managed responsibly, budgets should be balanced, and expenditures should be transparent and consistent with Indiana law and the needs of our community.
Second, I would make sure the Board stays focused on the residents of Scott Township. I want to listen to our community, work cooperatively with the Trustee and other Board members, and help ensure that township resources are being used effectively to provide the services residents need today while planning responsibly for the future.
I believe one of our biggest challenges is making sure we are financially responsible while continuing to provide the services our residents depend on. With the changes in fire and EMS services, maintaining adequate funding for public safety is especially important. We also need to be good stewards of our parks and other township assets and make sure township assistance remains available to residents who need it.
As a Township Board member, I would focus on careful budgeting, transparency and accountability. I would ask questions, review expenditures closely and make sure we are planning not just for the needs of today, but for the long-term financial health of Scott Township.
I have a diverse background in human resources and community service. I worked in Human Resources with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and also served as Director of Hospitality at Blue Grass Church. I have been a resident of Scott Township for 21 years. My professional and volunteer experiences have strengthened my skills in leadership, organization, budgeting, and working with people—skills I would bring to the Scott Township Board.
Board members are responsible for setting policies and rules for township government, providing financial oversight, approving the annual budget, setting the township's property tax rates, and approving the township trustee's annual financial report.
My early career as a local government employee, my Master's degree in Public Administration, and my current position already serving as a member of the Scott Township Advisory Board coupled with my passion for ensuring good government for my community and a willingness to listen to people's concerns gives me a unique perspective and a valuable set of resources to address any issue facing Scott Township.
To make sure that in whatever the township does, it is 1) providing the services that the public needs in an equitable manner, and 2) in a way that is responsible for the taxpayers.
Good government needs more than just politicians running it. It needs its citizens to be engaged at all levels to make their needs and desires known to help the elected officials make good policy decisions for their communities. I encourage all residents of Scott Township to share their opinions, and for my part, I will always be willing to consider them as their advocate in township government.
I want to take the level of government that is designed to be the most accessible to the public, the one that is also traditionally the most overlooked, and help create an environment that the citizens of Scott Township feel welcome and encouraged to participate in.

Oversee the Trustee, budgeting and contract management for the township.
I have been medical director of Evansville State Hospital and Southwestern Behavioral. These roles provided management and budgeting experience. I managed numerous contracts as medical director of Evansville State Hospital. I was finance chair of my church for several years. I was president of the Vanderburgh 4H council. I have extensive leadership experience. My day to day work at Southwestern Behavioral utilized a team approach with therapists, case managers, nurses and prescribers. Working as a team with the trustee and other board members provides optimal outcomes.
