I was born and raised in Huntsville. After High school I joined the USMC and attended Calhoun CC and graduated from Athens State University

My wife and I raised our 3 children here.

I am completing my first term on Council and have been honored to serve the citizens of District 2.

I have taken great care to be responsive to citizen concerns in a timely manner.

I also realize if I want to get anything done on council, I will need 3 votes. Maintaining productive relationships with my colleagues is vital.
Maintaining the high quality of life our citizens enjoy is top of the list. Ensuring our public safety departments are fully funded and supporting road maintenance budgets. Also, working to attract high quality businesses that offer opportunities to our workforce as well as attracting new people to call Huntsville home.
I’m pro-growth, but it has to be smart growth, with development done in partnership with businesses that complement our local economy. We need to continue to be deliberate about which industries we recruit so growth strengthens our economic base rather than strain it.

On quality of life: it shouldn’t be an afterthought to prosperity — they’re the same goal. Every major development decision needs to account for its impact on traffic, schools, and infrastructure up front, not after the fact.
Data centers are not big employers, from what I have been learning about them the last few years.

I have never been asked to sign and NDA nor do I I suspect that to happen.
Our meetings are live-streamed and archived on our city council website.

We extend the courtesy to citizens to address council in two ways. Agenda related public comments and non agenda related comments.

All public hearings are open to the public whenever those are on our agenda.

I would recommend citizens who have concerns related to city business, to contact their council representative and arrange a meeting or phone call to discuss.

Public comments are limited to 3 minutes and there is a no dialogue.

An in person meeting or call would be much more productive.
I love Huntsville and want to continue seeing it thrive and grow. I fully recognize this isn’t the same town it was 30 or more years ago but our record growth has brought so many opportunities to our citizens from employment to parks and recreation, music and other entertainment options, new greenways, etc.

We have a very low crime rate for a city out size and I will always make sure our police and fire departments are fully funded.
