My training, professional experience, and lifelong commitment to serving others have prepared me to become an advocate for my people. I have developed strong communication, problem solving , leadership and people skills. I have learned to listen and understand the needs and concerns from people from all walks of life.

I believe that some of our biggest challenges facing Bessemer are aging and inadequate housing, neglected properties, empty lots, neighborhood cleanliness public safety and creating a more attractive community for the residents as well as addressing major flooding issues affecting the districts as a whole. The first six months on my assignment would be meetings establishing neighborhood associations evaluating my district to be the 1st phase of neighborhood revitalazarion making the district safer for our children to walk home from school. The next six months would be placing real plans in place by accessing the funds.I
My opinion on the cities current approach to manage growth & development is simple. Some communities thrive while others decline tremendously. Instead of watching each community grow together some areas have been totally neglected. The quality of life and economic prosperity should improve the lives of the people who call Bessemer home. By encouraging responsible businesses and development that brings good paying jobs , investments and opportunities to our people. A well maintained community is a great way to define change in the right direction.
I think the city should speak to there voters in each district to discuss the pros and cons and the health risks concerning the data center. This should have been done before signing something so huge. However rules & regulations must be set in place for the safety of the residents. NDA's should never be used to hide wrongdoing, or to prevent the public from knowing what's really going on especially concerning public business. Taxpayer dollars or decisions concerning the people of Bessemer should never be a hidden agenda. The people have the right to the details simply because they are the ones that are affected.
Residents should not have to wonder what's going on or what decisions are being made or feel there voices are being overlooked. We should be responsive, transparent and accessible to the people we serve. Expanding our methods of communication by social media and citys website. Provide clear and timely notice of meetings agendas and major decisions so residents have the opportunity to participate fully. More opportunities for public input is vital. Residents should also have a clear understanding of where there dollars are being spent especially when major expenditures are necessary.

I am running because I genuinely care about the people and the future of our community. I believe we can do better and I am willing & able to be apart of the work it takes to make our home Bessemer even greater. For much is given much is required.
