Qualifications/Experience
I am a public school Health and Physical Education teacher with experience in curriculum development, student assessment, school wide programming and student wellness. I have worked with students from pre-school through high school and have experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs. I hold a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and have served in roles involving curriculum development, district assessments, enrichment programming, school wide wellness intiatives and collaboration with our school community. My professional experience has given me firsthand insight into classroom instruction, curriculum and assessment, school operations and the day to day work of educators.
Involvement in Community
Being an active part of our school and local community is something I truly value. As a parent of two children in the Wyckoff Public Schools, I've enjoyed finding ways to be involved and give back, from serving as a class parent and Co-Chairperson for Kindergarten Night Out to helping create decorations for theme day and volunteering at Field Day. Our family is also actively involved Wyckoff recreational sports, and I enjoy supporting my children as they participate, learn and build friendships through these programs. These experiences have given me the opportunity to connect with teachers, staff, coaches and other families and most importantly, to be part of the everyday moments that make Wyckoff such a special community.

I want to serve on the school board because I care deeply about the future of our children and our community. As a parent of two children in the district, I see firsthand the impact our schools have on their growth and opportunities. My husband grew up in Wyckoff and attended our public schools, so our family has a deep, personal connection to this community. As a teacher, I bring the perspective of an educator who understands the dedication of our staff and the needs of today’s students. I want to give back by listening, collaborating, and helping ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, supportive, and excellent school system.
Our most important challenge is addressing the issues facing our schools with thoughtful, transparent, and student-centered leadership. We need to honor the goals of our Strategic Plan while taking an honest look at where we can improve. We should be intentional about technology so it supports, rather than substitutes for, strong teaching and meaningful student learning, while strengthening trust through transparency, communication, and accountability. As a parent of two children in the district and a teacher, I bring both a personal and professional perspective. I understand what families value and the realities educators face in the classroom. I am prepared to listen, ask thoughtful questions, consider multiple perspectives, and work collaboratively to make informed decisions that put students first.
My experience with Wyckoff Public Schools has allowed me to see both the strengths of our district and areas where I believe we should ask thoughtful questions. I have met many dedicated educators who care deeply about their students and their work. As a parent and teacher, I am particularly interested in how technology is being used to support instruction. My concern is not with technology itself, but with whether the amount of time students spend on screens is purposeful and actually deepening their understanding, engagement, and connection to what they are learning. I believe technology should be a tool that enhances great teaching; not replace meaningful, hands-on, and human learning experiences.
My top priority is closing the achievement gaps among our elementary schools. While our schools continue to meet New Jersey standards, meaningful differences in student outcomes across our elementary schools deserve our attention. I believe every student should have access to the same high-quality opportunities and support, regardless of which elementary school they attend. As a teacher, I would bring an instructional perspective to understanding what is contributing to these differences and identifying strategies that can be shared across schools. I would also prioritize using data thoughtfully, listening to educators and families, and ensuring that resources are directed where they can have the greatest impact.
I want to serve because I believe deeply in the power of a great public education and I have the unique perspective of experiencing it from both sides of the classroom. As a teacher, I see every day how the right teacher, the right support, and the right learning environment can change a child’s trajectory. As a parent in this district, I see that impact in my own children. That perspective has made me care not only about what our schools are doing well, but also about where we can grow. I want to bring curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to listen and learn to the board. My goal is simple; to help make sure every child in Wyckoff has the opportunity to feel known, challenged, supported, and excited to learn.
