Kyle and I want to help ensure the Upper Saddle River schools maintain their high level of educational excellence while providing strong value to our community. Like many families, we chose USR because of its outstanding schools and community. Recent budget pressures and personnel reductions have reinforced for us how important thoughtful long-term financial planning, clear communication and transparency are to maintaining that excellence. We want to listen, understand the facts and work collaboratively with the Board, administration, teachers and parents to make responsible decisions that support our students and our community.
The biggest challenge will be balancing the educational needs of our students and the support our teachers and administrators need with the financial resources available to the district. Rising costs, especially health care, make long-term planning and careful stewardship increasingly important. We have both held professional positions with full P&L responsibility, where we were accountable for balancing organizational needs, personnel costs, customer expectations and financial performance. That experience taught us to ask the right questions, evaluate tradeoffs, build strong teams and remain accountable for results. We would bring that same disciplined, collaborative approach to Board-level policy, planning and oversight.
The parent engagement we have experienced throughout the district has been exceptional. The commitment of parents who support the PTO, USREF and classroom activities creates a strong sense of community and demonstrates how much residents care about our schools. Our interactions with staff have generally reflected a willingness to listen, collaborate and support our children. As parents, we have also had experiences that reminded us how important clear communication and understanding the full context are when concerns arise. Those experiences have reinforced our belief that effective Board leadership starts with listening, asking questions, communicating with transparency and working collaboratively toward solutions.
Our highest priority is to help ensure that strong educational outcomes are supported by responsible financial planning and transparent decision-making. We want to fully understand the district budget, the assumptions behind it and how financial decisions affect teachers, administrators, programs and students. As Board members, we would focus on asking informed questions, understanding tradeoffs, communicating clearly with the community and working collaboratively with the administration to support the long-term strength of our schools.
We have each lived in Upper Saddle River for more than six years, and we genuinely value the community we have chosen for our families. We have a vested interest in seeing our young children thrive at Bogert and Cavallini and in maintaining the strong educational experience our community expects. Professionally, we bring leadership experience, full P&L responsibility, strategic planning, team building and accountability. We believe those skills, combined with our perspective as parents and residents, can contribute to thoughtful, transparent and responsible Board leadership. Most importantly, we are committed to listening to our community and putting students first.

I believe we can have excellent schools and responsible taxes. Those should not be competing goals.
Maintaining a high-quality school system requires resources, and I will never support sacrificing the education our children deserve simply to reduce spending. At the same time, I believe the Board has a responsibility to carefully examine how those resources are used and to respect the financial realities facing homeowners.
Before asking taxpayers to pay more, we should make every reasonable effort to find better solutions.
I believe one of the most important challenges facing our school district is maintaining the high quality of education our children deserve while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. We should be able to support excellent teachers, strong academic programs, and the resources our students need while carefully evaluating how every dollar is spent.
As a parent, I have a personal stake in the future of our schools. My children attend our local schools, and I see firsthand how important our teachers, administrators, and school community are to our children’s growth and development. I want to help ensure that future generations have the same opportunities while making thoughtful, long-term decisions about our district.
My experience with the Upper Saddle River school district is deeply personal. I am a resident, homeowner, and parent raising my children here. I have actively supported our schools by volunteering at numerous events and working alongside teachers, staff, and other parents. Most recently, I was the sole parent volunteer for Bogert’s production of Seussical Jr., taking responsibility for fundraising, organizing dinners, playbill production, and concessions. That experience gave me a firsthand understanding of the planning, teamwork, and commitment required to create meaningful opportunities for our children. It strengthened my desire to serve our district and contribute as an engaged, practical, and community-minded Board member.
My highest priority as a Board of Education member would be to maintain the excellence of our schools while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. I believe we can support our teachers, protect strong academic programs, and give our children the resources they need without unnecessarily increasing the burden on homeowners. I would focus on carefully evaluating spending, contracts, and programs; identifying opportunities for shared services and outside funding; and planning responsibly for future needs. Most importantly, I will listen to parents, teachers, staff, students, and residents and work collaboratively toward practical solutions. Excellent schools and responsible taxes can—and should—go hand in hand.
I’m running because I care deeply about our children, our schools, and the future of Upper Saddle River. I’m not a career politician—I’m a parent, homeowner, neighbor, and active member of our school community who believes in listening, asking questions, and finding practical solutions. My background in the U.S. Navy, the United Nations, and real estate has taught me the importance of accountability, collaboration, negotiation, and responsible decision-making. I believe we can continue providing an excellent education while being thoughtful about how we spend taxpayer dollars. I will bring an open mind, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to putting our students and entire community first.
