I want to serve on the Board of Education because North Arlington is my home, my children attend our schools, and I care deeply about the opportunities we provide to every student. I have spent my career in education, and I would like to bring that experience back to my own community. I also believe parents and residents should feel heard and understand the decisions being made about our schools. I want to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and work collaboratively to make decisions that put students first while being responsible to our community.
Like many districts, North Arlington has to continue improving student outcomes while responding to different student needs and making thoughtful decisions about limited resources. We also need to make sure students are prepared for what comes after high school, whether that is college, a career, or another pathway. Professionally, I have spent more than 20 years in education, with much of my work focused on student success, academic programs, assessment, strategic planning, and creating new opportunities for students. As a parent, I also understand these issues from the other side. I believe that combination would allow me to ask good questions, look closely at data, listen to families and educators, and help the board make informed decisions.
I am a North Arlington parent with two children in our schools, so our district is a part of my family's everyday life. I have also tried to be involved beyond my own children's classrooms. I serve as Vice President of the Susan B. Anthony School PTO and volunteer as a youth softball coach. These experiences have given me the opportunity to get to know families, educators, and children throughout our community. They have also reinforced for me how much families value our schools and how important communication and partnership are to a strong school district.
My highest priority will be making sure our students have strong opportunities to succeed both while they are in North Arlington and after they graduate. That means looking at academic achievement, student support, college and career readiness, and opportunities that allow students to challenge themselves and explore their interests. I am especially interested in building partnerships that can expand opportunities for students without unnecessarily increasing costs for families or the district. I also want decisions to be guided by data, student needs, and what is sustainable for North Arlington over the long term.
I am running because I care about this community and believe I can contribute my experience in education in a meaningful way. I am a parent first, but I also bring more than 20 years of professional experience in higher education and student success. I understand that serving on the Board of Education is about working as part of a team, listening to different perspectives, asking questions, and making decisions in the best interest of the entire district. I will come prepared, do my homework, and approach the role with an open mind and a genuine commitment to North Arlington's students and families.

I want to serve as a school board member because I am deeply invested in our children, our schools, and our community. As a parent, special needs advocate, Girl Scout leader, baseball coach, cheer advisor, class mother, and Vice President of a nonprofit serving children with special needs, I have seen firsthand how important it is for every child and family to feel heard and supported. I also bring professional experience in finance, budgeting, project management, and working with multiple stakeholders. I want to bring those experiences together to ask thoughtful questions, promote responsible decision-making, and work collaboratively to support the needs of all students.
I believe some of the most important challenges facing our school district are ensuring that our students and staff have the resources they need, maintaining and updating our facilities, and making sure taxpayer dollars are being used responsibly and transparently.
As our schools and student needs continue to evolve, it is important that we take a thoughtful look at our buildings, technology, programs, and available resources to determine where improvements or updates may be needed. At the same time, those decisions must be made with a clear understanding of the financial impact on our community. Taxpayers deserve transparency about how funds are being allocated, what priorities are being addressed, and how those investments directly benefit students.

As a parent in this district, my experience has been shaped greatly by advocating for students with special needs, including my own child who receives services through an IEP. That experience has given me a firsthand understanding of how important communication, appropriate resources, and strong support systems are for students and their families. It has also strengthened my commitment to ensuring that every child has access to the services and opportunities they need to succeed.
My highest priority would be ensuring that every school and every student receives the support, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed. That means taking a close look at the district budget, strengthening special services, improving and maintaining our facilities, and continuing to enhance curriculum and educational opportunities for all students. I would approach each decision with transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a focus on what best serves the entire district
