The Nevada State Assembly is the lower chamber of the state Legislature and works alongside the Senate to draft, debate, and enact state laws. All 42 Assembly seats are up for election in 2026, and the Assembly plays a central role in shaping policy on schools, healthcare, housing, jobs, public safety, and state budgeting. Because Assembly members represent local districts and serve two-year terms, these races allow voters to hold lawmakers closely accountable and ensure that policy priorities reflect the needs and values of their communities. These elections matter for democratic representation and for how the state resolves the biggest challenges facing Nevadans.

What we are seeing now with how the Trump Administration is using ICE is unfathomable. They are using it to destroy due process, democracy itself, and the rights of immigrants and US citizens .
I would propose state level legislation that would end ICE detention centers in Nevada that are being subsidized by state and local tax payers. I would push for legislation that ceases any cooperation with ICE we as state can do. That includes barring ICE from entering schools, healthcare facilities, and other critical areas.
Redistricting should be conducted by non partisan and unbiased commissions in every state across the country to ensure transparency and fairness.
However, until that is accomplished across the entire country, we must fight fire with fire, and utilize all possible levers of power including redistricting to ensure that the fair practice becomes law first across the entire United States.
We need to end corporate home ownership in the state of Nevada or at the very least severely limit it. To accomplish this, it will be necessary to build a coalition of people and power to push this change including running a campaign that will fight to kick Joe Lombardo out of office and instill more community based champions in the state legislature. It also involved engaging with people already in the legislature that support this initiative including Republicans who have been willing to work on this issue.
