Governor of Nevada (4 yr terms, 2 term limit=8 yrs) The Governor is Nevada’s chief executive and serves a four-year term. As the head of the executive branch, the Governor proposes the state budget, signs or vetoes legislation passed by the Legislature, appoints leaders of state agencies and boards, and oversees the implementation of state laws. The Governor also plays a central role in emergency response, economic development, education funding, healthcare policy, public safety, and environmental planning.
