Delaware Valley Regional High School District serves students from five local school districts: Alexandria Township, Holland Township, Kingwood Township, Borough of Milford , and Borough of Frenchtown. The Delaware Valley Regional School District Board of Education consists of nine members elected by the constituents of the participating municipalities: three representatives from Holland Township, two representatives each from Alexandria Township and Kingwood Township, and one representative each from the Borough of Milford and the Borough of Frenchtown.

What motivates you to run for School Board? What characteristics, personal qualities, and professional experience make you an ideal candidate for this position?

Education is very valuable to me. It is important that our community has the proper support to ensure that a quality high school education is available to all of our children. Being a member of the Board of Ed allows me to give back to my community and be part of the Board that helps to provide this to our children. I am an alum of Del Val, have sent my own child through Del Val, and most of my students eventually attend Del Val. Being a local educator, I also feel that I bring a different view point to the board.
It is true that budgetary constraints can be difficult to manage, without negatively affecting the students and staff. One of the ways that I support Del Val saving costs and being able to continue to provide the programs that we do is through shared services. This has been a very successful strategy over the last three years that I have been on the Board and for many years before that.
The Board can, and has, put out surveys for our community to fill out. We also welcome members of the community to our meetings to observe the Board doing our business. Our admin team has held many parent panel meetings to invite different viewpoints to be shared.
Del Val has embraced a theory of teaching appropriate and productive use of AI, rather than forbidding it. It can be a powerful tool if students are taught to use it.
