Mills residents are facing the effects of rising costs and increasing demands on public services. Families want to know their tax dollars are being spent responsibly and that their local government is stretching every dollar. Residents expect strong public safety services, reliable infrastructure, and a city government that is planning for future growth while fostering community live-ability that makes Mills a great place to live.
I have worked hard to identify operational challenges throughout the city and pursuing outside funding opportunities. During my term, I successfully renegotiated city leases for better revenue, established new lease agreements that generate revenue, found savings such as safety programs that reduced workers’ compensation costs, and revised policies such as landfill pass distribution to reduce abuse. Making taxpayers dollars go further.
I worked with the fire department to stabilize their revenue by creating an ambulance incentive program and found an in house medical biller who works diligently to capture run payments from insurers.
I’m proud of the community events created that foster live-ability and family fun. Movies in the park have been a big success. I upgraded two parks play ground equipment while saving money by repurposing old school equipment. Our service and sacrifice park is coming together beautifully and is funded by non profit donations.
I have also worked aggressively to bring additional funding into our community. These efforts resulted in the award of a federal COPS grant to support a patrol officer which allowed us to place a resource officer in the new school and $1 million in Congressional Community Project Funding towards the lower Mills infrastructure project. I have worked closely with Wyoming’s congressional delegation and federal agencies to advocate for an independent Mills ZIP code, helping strengthen our community’s identity and future economic opportunities.
If re elected, I will continue pursuing grants, improving operational performance, supporting public safety, investing in infrastructure, and ensuring Mills residents receive the greatest value possible from every tax dollar spent.
Serving as Mayor has provided me with practical experience managing daily city operations, overseeing budgets, navigating complex challenges, and making decisions that directly affect taxpayers. I believe effective leadership requires being present, engaged, and willing to tackle difficult issues while keeping the long-term interests of the community at the forefront.
Throughout my term, I have built strong working relationships with local leaders, state officials, and Wyoming’s congressional delegation. Those relationships have helped Mills secure grant funding and advocate for community priorities. I am often in Cheyenne and Casper testifying in committees on bills that affect Mills.
Whether securing outside funding, strengthening regional partnerships, or advocating for Mills at every level of government, I have produced measurable outcomes for our community. I am prepared to continue that work and build upon the established progress.
Mills is the fastest growing city in Wyoming year over year and it’s the people who live here that make it a great place to live!
Right now in Mills the questions are Water with the drought, Infrastructure, the Pathway, Riverfront and Austin Project
If elected I will attempt to revive the projects we had going like the River front Project, the pathways that run from Robertson road to Amoco pathways and the Austin Project that is all but stalled at this point, improve infrastructure with actually doing those projects not just talking about them. We need to look at budgeting to make these a priority or we will not be able to catch up with it in the future, look at water rights and help to secure water for a growing and prosperous City, as we will eventually hit a max growth without securing more water at some point.
As a Professional land surveyor, Business owner, and President of the council I have the understanding of all these issues and with my experience in the Surveying and engineering field over the last 28 years I have a working knowledge of how to move these things forward and keep the ball rolling on them. If elected I will bring all my experience to the table to update infrastructure, balance budgets, improve parks and focus on the Future of Mills as a whole not personal agendas and projects.
