What are the most crucial challenges your constituents are facing?
If elected, how will you address these challenges?
What qualities or qualifications do you possess that have prepared you to meet these challenges?
For the Town of Evansville, we have a number of challenges that we are facing now and in the future.
The 2 things that I hear most about is the Data Center and the Utilities associated with the cost rising. Most citizens and elected officals to my knowledge, are working hard to ask the hard questions before diving in on any decision. I will be doing the same.
The Data Center is a complex issue on many levels and I am still gathering information on all sides and working hard to get the answers that our citizens deserve along with their input before making a statement on their behalf if elected.
The utilities have had to be voted with an increase on water. But even with this being done we are still far below Caspers rates and as I have seen and heard that with the increase, people will have a harder time paying their bills. The cost of living and pay rates do not show a fair value on what our citizens actually need to make ends meet much less thrive. After hearing all sides it was a tough decision to raise rates from the current Mayor and Town Council and they do not take it lightly. Unfortunately as a town, they had to do so.
This along with other future decisions will be at the very least challenging.
As a Town Council member it is our duty to ask the hard questions and make our decisions based only on what the citizens and our wonderful towns needs are. I will work as a team and a voice for our citizens to make sure that we are doing what is best for the whole town.
Even when it is hard, our town and our people are our responsibility and I do not take that lightly. I would be honored if elected and will be open to anyone with conversation and action. And I will always be open and transparent with every decision.
I have run and started a small animal sanctuary over 20 years ago in a small town while living there. I had a home daycare that we owned for several years before moving to another state. I was a Correctional Officer and in the medical field. I have volunteered in different areas when needed and have been in charge of fund raisers. I always keep an open mind and believe that every “voice” should be heard and listened to. I cannot and will not make a difference or decision without each and every “voice” being heard first that wishes to reach out.
