Sussex Counties biggest challenge to date is infrastructure. This is imperative to address for multiple reasons, coming from a military background we need infrastructure that connects our community while ensuring safety and security. Our local roads, highways and bridges need to support the current and projected volume of travelers along with reducing emergency response times enabling functionality for everyday commuters.

Homelessness is multi-faceted, and no one approach is going to deliver a solution for such a large and broad issue. Legislators must work together to find solutions to problems such as mental health (PTSD), substance abuse, domestic violence, unemployment or employment with impracticable wages, and health crisis to include disability. I want to be the Legislator sitting at the table discussing real solutions to the current crisis as this is a nonpartisan issue.
Interestingly, as a former member of the military carrying a fully automatic machine gun, an M16 rifle, and even a 9mm pistol on my side was typical. Going to school it was not uncommon to see a shotgun in the rear window of a truck. I do not recall any issues or incidents growing up nor during my 27-year career in the military because I was educated on the importance of gun safety. Weapons are for hunting and self-defense. Generating new laws pertaining to weapons and safe storage only effects law abiding citizens.
An out of the box solution would be to incentivize health care providers to “cure” the issue in front of them, rather than manage the issue with long term dependance. When facing a patient with addiction, changing the illicit drug with a prescribed legal narcotic continues the addictive behavior. Studies have shown when dealing with addiction a multi-pronged approach that focusses on the root cause does work. To see healthcare cost reduced, we need to demand cures with a common-sense solution, not a lifetime prescription with cumulative illness.

I handled every aspect of the business—from marketing and customer service to budgeting, operations, and problem-solving. Owning a business has given me a real understanding of the challenges entrepreneurs face, including rising costs, changing regulations, and the importance of making every dollar count.
Community Involvement
I've had the opportunity to work closely with people, businesses, and organizations throughout our community especially through my Marketing career. I have participated in holding fundraisers for people in our community as well as advocating for seniors, children and parental rights.
The concerns I hear most from across our community are clear: the rising cost of living, rapid growth without the infrastructure to support it, protecting local control over land use, accessable and quality healthcare, public safety, ensuring our schools prepare students for success, and protecting our seniors.
My approach is rooted in responsible, practical solutions. I support policies that promote economic growth while protecting taxpayers, strengthen our roads, schools, and emergency services before approving large-scale development, and preserve the voice of local communities in land-use decisions. We must support Delaware's farmers and small businesses, expand workforce opportunities, and reduce unnecessary government barriers.
Homelessness in Delaware requires more than simply building more housing—it requires a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes while providing pathways to stability. We must ensure resources are reaching those who need them most and that programs are focused on helping individuals regain independence. Strengthening partnerships between state agencies, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and local communities to improve access to mental health services, addiction treatment, job training, and employment opportunities is a must. We also need to examine the barriers that contribute to housing instability, including the rising cost of living, lack of affordable workforce housing, and the challenges faced by seniors and families .
I believe protecting our communities and protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens must go hand in hand. The Second Amendment is a fundamental right, and I do not support legislation that unfairly targets responsible gun owners or restricts the rights of citizens who follow the law. I do support responsible firearm ownership, education, and efforts that improve safety. This includes encouraging safe storage practices, expanding access to firearm safety training, and ensuring that existing laws are properly enforced to keep guns out of the hands of individuals who pose a serious threat. I would carefully evaluate whether a proposal truly improves public safety while respecting the rights of Delaware citizens.
Healthcare is one of the most important concerns facing Delaware families, especially as costs continue to rise and access to providers becomes more difficult, particularly for our seniors and those living in rural communities. I believe the long-term solution is not simply expanding government control, but creating a healthcare system that is more affordable, accessible, and accountable. We should focus on increasing competition, reducing unnecessary regulations that drive up costs, improving price transparency, and supporting policies that allow patients to have more choices in their healthcare decisions, as well a focusing on the shortage of healthcare providers by training them here in our backyard.
