The Hightstown Borough Council is the governing body of the municipality. It establishes the laws and policies for the Borough. Hightstown Borough Common Council's governing body consists of one elected Mayor who serves a four-year term; and six elected Council Members, each serving a three-year term.Council members' terms are staggered, with two seats up for election each year.

What are your priorities for your term in municipal government? How do you plan to implement those priorities?

Simple answer: transparency, town growth, and tax reduction. As cliche as they may be, I believe they’re important and crucial to a cohesive relationship between the council and residents.
Open stream of communication. I invite anyone with a question or an issue to reach out and I will do what I can to address it.
The biggest challenge I see is following through. Allowing housing to be built doesn’t guarantee it gets built, and helping residents repair existing homes takes funding and outreach. We also need to understand how development will affect water, sewer, parking, and borough services. I’d ask practical questions: What’s holding things up? Who’s responsible? What will it cost? Residents deserve clear answers and steady progress toward safe, affordable homes.
Yes. Residents facing financial hardship, language barriers, disabilities, or isolation can struggle to get help or be heard. I’d work with local organizations to make borough information available in plain language and multiple languages, improve accessibility, and strengthen connections to food assistance, housing support, transportation, and community services. That starts with listening to people about what’s actually missing. We should build on what local organizations already do well and close the gaps, so getting help doesn’t depend on knowing the right person.
Borough Council doesn’t control policies that impact how ICE operates, but it has an absolute responsibility to the people who live here. As a former police officer and longtime EMT, I want residents to feel safe reporting a crime or calling for help. I’d work with borough leadership and community organizations to provide clear information about residents’ rights, connect families with legal assistance, and ensure the borough practices follow state law. I would also speak up when enforcement harms our community or violates people’s rights. Public safety depends on trust.
