Biographical Information

1. If elected, what are the two most critical issues you would like to see addressed in our city in the first 2 months? In the next 2 years? Why?

2. What should our city be doing now to help solve the solid waste (trash) crisis facing the entire county? Please discuss regarding reduction, recycling, and reuse of waste in our city.

3. Since effective responses to worker housing needs require both municipal and county levels of government, what policies should our city consider to help solve the affordable housing problem?

4. If property taxes were eliminated or significantly reduced by the state legislature, how would you determine which city services would need to be reduced? What ideas would you promote to make-up budget shortfalls?

5. What have you done or plan to do to actively involve or engage all residents in the decision- making process for shaping the future direction of the city so there is a greater feeling of unity in the community?

Biography I am a 29 year resident and have served as City Commissioner since March 2018. A business development professional with more than three decades of private-sector experience, I bring a practical focus on fiscal responsibility, reliable services, and accountable government. My priorities include reducing traffic and flooding, repairing aging infrastructure, and maintaining safe, attractive neighborhoods.

My two priorities are flooding and traffic, with accountability for delivering improvements in both. In the first two months, I would press for a public action plan identifying flooding locations, practical interim measures, responsible staff, costs, and completion dates. This should include evaluating ways to prevent tidal backflow through storm drains. For traffic, I would request updated travel-time and intersection-safety measurements to identify where further improvements are needed. Over the next two years, I would focus on completing priority drainage and aging-infrastructure projects, improving traffic flow, and making streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.
Hallandale Beach must work with Broward County on a regional solution while taking practical steps locally. Reduction should start with City purchasing and operations: reduce unnecessary disposable products, encourage food-waste prevention, and evaluate cost-effective composting options. For recycling, I support restoring a program with clear financial terms, contamination controls, and verification that collected materials are actually recycled. Residents and condominium associations need consistent instructions and convenient participation options. Reuse should include partnerships for donating usable furniture, clothing, and household goods, along with repair and reuse opportunities that keep valuable items out of bulk trash.
Our City should coordinate with Broward County to preserve existing affordable homes and create housing that local workers can realistically afford. I support faster, predictable permitting for qualifying affordable projects; partnerships with nonprofit housing providers; and carefully evaluated use of suitable public land. Development incentives should secure enforceable, long-term affordability commitments, with clear income eligibility and monitoring. We should also evaluate appropriately scaled housing near jobs and transit, while accounting for drainage, traffic, utilities, and neighborhood compatibility.
I would begin with a public, service-by-service analysis of the revenue loss, legal obligations, operating costs, and consequences of possible reductions. My priorities are protecting emergency response, essential infrastructure maintenance, sanitation, and services that prevent larger future costs. Before reducing services, I would examine administrative overhead, purchasing, contracts, vacant positions, and projects that could be deferred without creating greater expense or risk. Potential revenue options include advocating for reliable state replacement funding, pursuing grants for eligible projects, sharing services with other governments, and reviewing appropriate user fees.
I have pressed for clear project priorities, measurable targets, and regular public updates so residents can see what the City promised, what it completed, and what remains unfinished. Meaningful participation requires accessible information and confidence that speaking up can make a difference. I support neighborhood discussions, plain-language budget and project summaries, multilingual outreach, and opportunities to participate both online and in person. We should reach renters, homeowners, businesses, and anyone whose schedule makes attending meetings difficult. I will continue listening respectfully to everyone. Unity grows when people receive fair treatment and see their concerns addressed through visible results.
