County Treasurer
The Teton County Treasurer is responsible for managing county revenue, collecting property taxes, and overseeing motor vehicle registrations and the associated sales tax. The office processes payments, reconciles bank accounts, monitors general ledgers, and distributes funds to local taxing entities such as the school district. The Treasurer is paid a salary of $145,000 per year, increasing to $153,700 in January 2027. Benefits for full-time Teton County employees include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, and retirement through the Wyoming Retirement System.

I am running for re-election because I care about serving the residents of Teton County and ensuring the Treasurer's Office continues to operate with integrity, professionalism, and fiscal responsibility. Safeguarding public funds, providing excellent customer service, and managing the office in a way that earns the public's trust are strived for daily.
After serving as Teton County Treasurer for the past eight years, I have the experience, institutional knowledge, and financial expertise to continue protecting taxpayer dollars and serving the public with professionalism and integrity.
At this time, I would not change the office's budget priorities. The Treasurer's Office has many statutory responsibilities that are required by Wyoming law and those responsibilities drive most of our budget. My priority is to continue managing taxpayer dollars responsibly, maintaining efficient operations, and providing excellent customer service to the public. If opportunities arise to improve efficiency or reduce costs without compromising our statutory obligations, I will always pursue them.
Implementing more innovative and efficient processes is an ongoing effort. Throughout my time as Treasurer, I have continually reviewed how our office operates and have made numerous improvements to increase efficiency and better serve the public.
Once question I regularly ask is, "Why do we do it that way?" Many times the response is, "Because that's how it's always been done." I believe it's important to challenge that mindset and look for better ways to accomplish our work while maintaining accuracy, accountability, and compliance with state law.

One aspect of the office I would like the public to better understand is that many of the responsibilities of the Treasurer's Office are established by Wyoming law. At times, residents may believe our office is creating county policies or rules when, in reality, we are carrying out duties required by state statute.
I would also like the public to have a better understanding of the Treasurer's role as the county's chief investment officer. Managing the county's investments is one of the most important responsibilities of the office. It requires a thorough understanding of financial markets, careful risk management, and a commitment to safeguarding public funds while maximizing returns within the limits of Wyoming law.
