Across the 85th and Wisconsin, working families are struggling to make ends meet. A big priority for me in the legislature will be addressing the rising costs of groceries, housing, healthcare, utilities, and childcare.

My background in energy efficiency uniquely prepares for this work, as I help folks lower their energy bills and make their homes more comfortable.

I’m also a big enjoyer of the outdoors. I want to make sure we protect Wisconsin’s natural beauty by making sure we commit to being good stewards of our land and making sure that big business doesn’t reap all the benefits from our natural resources.
I’ve spent my entire professional career reducing energy costs for thousands of homeowners across the Midwest, including right here in Wisconsin and utility costs are a sizable part of everyone’s monthly budget that flies under the radar as they are operational costs that most homeowners or tenants do not think about when they purchase a house or sign up for rent. The great thing about utility costs is it’s something states and residents can actively be engaged in lowering their own bills. At the state level, I want to get as many homes in Wisconsin weatherized so each home is more affordable and comfortable.
Yes. However, as we are seeing across the country, using an independent redistricting commission or having this in a state constitution is actually tying up pro-democracy states and allowing Republicans to rig future federal elections. So in theory, I support this as we need to get the drawing of maps out of the politicians hands, but we need to make sure it’s done all across the country for federal elections. To even take it one step further, I would support a constitutional ballot initiative to change that voting districts would be multi-member instead of single member districts and have proportional representation in our legislature and our federal House districts. I believe this would disarm the polarization.
The major issue that I see is a matter of funding for public schools and the growth of vouchers. I would make sure that public school funding kept up with inflation to make sure that communities are not reporting to referendums to pay for school services. I would also make transparent how much funding is being funneled to private schools through the school voucher system so the public is more educated on where public dollars are going.
If AI is anticipated to be the most influential technology ever created with vast effects across humanity, then all citizens and voters need to be in control of the benefits. The AI tech giants shouldn't be the only ones benefiting. This is why we need to create common-sense rules around data center usage and construction. The residents and voters need to be involved in the AI data center phase. There need to be safeguards in place to make sure energy, water, and property tax values do not spike due to construction and to protect ratepayers’ costs. If these protections are not in place, however, I would not support the production of more data centers. This extends to any project that could massively impact our communities.
